The Copperhouse Inn, Copperhouse

What a friendly pub. Only visited it in the mornings for their breakfasts so can't comment on their evening clientelle but if the mornings are anything to go by then this is a cracking pub. Great food, breakfasts were fresh, fast and cooked by the landlord. Very cheap too for food and drink and good for kids as there's a no smoking family area for food. Nice large layout with tv, pool and many fruit machines, friendly barmaid and nice seating and decor. Some entertainment was advertised for the coming season. If in Hayle give it a look in I'm sure you won't be disappointed. No disabled facilities.

Bucket Of Blood, Phillack

In our 2 weeks in Cornwall recently I would have to put this at the top of my list. What a cracking little pub, low beams, authentic interior, great sign. Fantastic atmosphere, kids allowed in, large car park to rear, only minimum cab fare to the local Haven holiday park or TOMS chalet park so no need to walk in the dark. Sunday lunch was amazing so much food on the plate that Henry VIII would have struggled to finish it all. Fully booked out most nights for food which is served between 6pm and 9pm. So friendly and helpful and a real slice of local life, no disabled facilities but that's the only fault I could find with it. I'd rather pee in a bush than go to a lesser pub with a disabled loo!

The Hogshead, Sidcup

It's a 'kids' pub. Packed most weekends with young exhuberant half dressed ladies and equally wired young men preened to the full in the earnest hope they will capture the woman of their 'dreams' for a night of illicit coupling. Having said that it's not a bad pub if you are young and want to listen to loud music and crowds, there has been some trouble there but no more than your average young haunt. During the week in the summer the huge glass doors are thrown open to try and capture some of that Parisian feel for drinking and eating. It does fall somewhere short of that but is pleasant enough on a weekday lunch time, price average for drinks. No disabled facilities at this time.
