Staying in Salisbury found a Hungry Horse pub. Me and my children but not my wife had eaten at this chain near where we live in North Wales and loved it. What a contrast!! The food was bland and portions tiny and most of the food was over cooked. Staff miserable and never got a receipt after being served and had to ask. Drinks poor. Avoid if you can!!

Grim. This is like a Little Chef that sells cheap beer. The beer is poorly kept and, I suspect, the food is mass produced for microwave reheating. (We only stopped because the wife needed a wee.)

Dreadful. Off beer, cardboard food, stroppy staff, screaming children, obnoxious locals - ugh. The only good thing about it is that it keeps lowlifes out of the good pubs in Salisbury - maybe that's why it's outside the City.

Used to go alot with parents when younger and it was always good. Went recently and the garlic bread was burnt and staff seemed to be more interested in talking to each other, rather than the customers. We ordered pud after and when they were brought out we hadn't even had our main course plates taken away!

The only good thing I can say is that food was available at 4pm on a weekday afternoon. Cheap and trying to be cheerful menu. Our order was taken incorrectly because the bar attendant was too busy trying to participate in a conversation with a colleague, we therefore took lower priority. Staff not exactly overfriendly, clearly lacking in motivation. When I pointed out that we'd been overcharged the correction was handled with bad grace. Reasonable value for money but they won't see me again as there is too much good competition in the area.

this place must sell the worst beer in the city or county even they do not have a clue how to keep the ales

A good pub - Nothing fancy, just a good pub.

A "manufactured" feel to this pub. Reasonable prices and choice of food.

Nice place. Friendly staff, lots going on during the week and special events. You get what you pay for with the food and the meals are huge. Huge tv for sports. Newly extended garden area. I like it.

Greene King pub with vast 'hungry horse' menu. Mainly aimed towards the family although there is a dartboard, golf machine and fruit machines tucked away round the back. Souless place generally although this would be a much better place if they could take out compulsory purchase orders on the nearby premises then they would be able to extend a beer garden to the banks of the Avon.
