Now a Tommy Flynn's, disappointed with the keeping of the beer. Too often cloudy, often not there at all. Will be a good enough pub if they get their act together re beer.

Currently being refurbed as part of the Tommy Flynn's chain of Pubs/Steakhouses. News of my recent return to work in the area has obviously reached the licencing trade! High hopes for pwopa beer so watch this space

Closed and boarded up as at January 12th 2013

Strange pub, with a fiercely fenced-off outside seating area at the front and almost nowhere to sit inside. Repainted in a rather gothic near-black during the last refurbishment, with the 'Hell' Pizza signage almost more prominent than the pub's name. Absolutely no ale at all, not even John Smiths Extra Dull or something bottled in the fridge. A very quick pint of 1664 (3.40) and I was off.

Pizzas were great and a nice price on a 2-for-1 night, making up for the very pricey lager (not a real beer in sight).

This pub used to be brilliant. It definitely isnt a place you can spend a lot of time in anymore, more of a passing through, quick pint or bite to eat place. The new referb is meant to make the place match up to its other gastro pub counterparts e.g. the eagle, the mulberry etc however it has failed. after closing for 2 weeks the re-opening only revealed that whoever hung the wall paper must have been blind. The addition of the chip fryer has given the pub the aroma of a cheap greasy spoon. I just couldnt wait to leave. The manager is unremorseful whenever anything goes wrong or is criticised, which is a shame as a more friendly customer service would be better appreciated. AND after all, when you are only trying to help along your local hang out, you would expect a little more enthusiasm. I have boycotted this place and will ALWAYS make the extra journey to go anywhere but the askew if only not to have to look at the awful wall paper that is allaskew.

Not a bad place - bright, clean. Good pizzas. Friendly Staff.
|
On the plus side the wine list is extensive and good quality (according to the missus), the stone-baked pizzas are tasty (and good value on a 2-for-1 night) and it's quite relaxed in here. On the minus, the draught selection is limited (Carling, Wifebeater, Kirin & Guinness) and they don't seem to have Sky sports. Good place in comparison to anything else local.
|
This used to be my local haunt. Good relaxed atmosphere but and always pretty full. (Not sure if that's good or not?)
The outside bits are nothing to talk about but they do a great 2 for 1 on decent Pizzas, Sunday and Tuesday nights.

Nice bar, has a DJ at weekends sometimes. Seriously heavy bouncers.
|
Good pub in the summer even if the patio is on the Uxbridge Road.Used to play music in the evenings but have'nt been in there at night since last summer so dont take my word for it!
|
It has suddenly become really expensive in here. 2.80 for a bottle of Peroni! :O
Is this to pay for the recent refurb? (Which, btw, was absolutely pointless)
|
Nice atmosphere and comfortable. Affordable prices and polite bar staff.
Busy during football.

I like this pub!! It is nice on a hot day but for other reasons than monitoring the traffic outside!! There are a couple attractive bar women especially a colured girl in there, she is always smily! Its nice to be served by a stunning girl who is also very friendly!! Good on her, Give her a Pay Rise!! Oh and the cocktails are yummy too.. BB

Amazing chilli chicken pizza, and they'll serve you as many shooters on a tray as you can carry. It'll cost you an arm and a leg though if you don't do it on specials night. Curious blend of council, sports fans and wannabe trendies. Not a bad place to have an overpriced lager. The tables at the front are great for observing traffic incidents on the nearby busy crossroad. Why else would anyone want to sit out front on a hot day next to fuming cars, when there's a small enclosed beer garden at the back which at least gives the illusion of seclusion?

Now called The Askew following Bar Room Bar take over. Lovely wood fried pizzas, by 1 get 1 free tuesdays
|
Slightly too far down the Uxbridge Road for the erudite and sharply dressed Football supporters to bother getting this far, although having said that, the other pikey boozers on the way get mobbed or colonized by rival fans, so many do go to the Askew Arms.
Otherwise, very pleasant. The homemade pizzas are good enough, and they give you a beeper that vibrates when your food's ready. The beer garden is basically a patio at the back with no real view, but it serves its purpose and they serve lager.

Bar is too small to deal with a full house on match days at Loftus Road.
