I lived in mounthurst rd in the 50s & 60s & remember the pub but was to young to use it, as most of the estate was built in the early 50s i do remember playing on the site where the pub was to be built which I think was around 1960, I did use the beacon a few times in the 70s when I was visiting the area & do remember it was an ok basic pub that even then was a bit run down, shame to see thats it's gone.

My parents owned the Beacon in the 70's - 80's .. and my dad was the big irish guy called Pat (he was actually American from New York) haha. great pub, loved living there as a kid.. went back quite a few times and it was still a lovely pub. Was gutted to find out it had been demolished. Sad news but still have the memories..

I was inexplicably unaware of this pub's existence despite having lived 10-15 mins away for the best part of 25 years; had never seen it mentioned online and only found it via a random Google Maps "pub" search. Was surprised to find a fairly large pub (two bars) in a suburban Hayes estate. Only one ale on (a reasonable London Pride), darts, pool and a good jukebox. The service was also welcoming and friendly, though not sure if this was the same barmaid noted by pubcollector!

Grew up in this pub, perfect 70's council estate local. Popped in a year ago, nothing changed. Friendly warm local watering hole. Never a problem. The sort of pub where on Sunday lunch you can drink with your dad,son and grandad and no one would look out of place. Miss the Sunday night "Drum & Piano" but that was a long time ago.....Long may it run. Not sure who the manager is now but some great ones in the past. Great big Irish bloke called Pat, Billy Forsythe to name a couple. Drunk there from the age of 14 , carried me dad home twice too

The best thing there was the barmaid. Very sexy, quite flirty and the best thing we found in Hayes. If more people knew she was there more people would go to the pub.

The Beacon in Hayes is a brill family run pub. The food is great which ranges from Pie & Mash, BBQ to Roast Dinners ! All popular sport is shown and they are very children friendly. There is a huge garden with play area for the kids so you can leave them to have fun while you sink a pint or 6 !!!!

I think The Beacon pub in Hayes is great. They cater for all ages and all occasions. There is a Kareoke on a Monday and all sorts or great things going on at the weekends. Also they love a good BBQ (whatever the weather!!!)All Football matches are shown and they also do lots of fun charity work where everyone can get involved. The one thing that got me hooked was the traditional Pie & Mash on a Saturday !! There is a huge garden with play area for the kids. What more could you ask for !
