Visited on a saturday for lunch. Very friendly staff and the food was excellent (especially crab salad). Our dog was made very welcome - we ate in the bar.
Beer choice very disappointing (4 Marston's including 2 Ringwood). Beer quality very good.

Really like this pub , went in recently whilst staying in the village friendly service and a good range of both lagers and bitters.

I notice there have been no recent reviews, so I thought i'd offer my tuppence. Recently, new owners have taken over the pub and turned the place around. The pub is a lot cleaner, the ale is great and the food is really tasty, with good variety on offer to suit all tastes. The owners also have a restaurant in Worthing, so they know what they're doing. I go there about one a month when i visit my parents and I would highly recommend it. The staff are really friendly, particlularly compared to some of the other pubs in the village.

Been here a couple of times. Went there last week with two friends and had a nice pint of ale each. There was a choice of three, and two of them were Jennings. The main bar is quite cosy and has a good feel to it.
However, we had three roast beef dinners and the meat was as tough as old boots. It may be a one-off, but with lots of local competition, the food should be a lot better than that.

The rabbit warren aspect gives it a lot of character. Nice wee beer garden to sup a well-kept pint of decent ale in. Can't comment on the food as yet untried. Wiil go back.

Agree with last comments. Sadly was an excellent place, driven by talent and enthusiasm, buried by corporatism, so food now at the Harvester/Beefeater level. No longer a 'destination' pub.

These reviews were true at the time. The pub has now (2007) been taken over by a brewery. With that comes all the mediocrity we would expect in Britain for both food, service and attitude and skills of the management. What a pity, a fantastic place once now sadly like most other places, essentially another franchise.

I used this place semi-regularly when living in Sussex. The food was superb and the beer first rate. The room had been recently re-furbished and was a very light and pleasant. A good pub in a lovelt part of the county.
