Excellent little boozer which I found open @11.30am on yesterday (Bank Hol) At first it is just me but not much later six or seven others arrive. Friendly barman (may be the Landlord?) who had a chat. As stated below 2 hand pumps with Batemand Rosry Nosey the guest today. I tried the Harveys Best which was so nice I stayed for another (@3.10 pint)

a locals pub. 2 hand pumps. harveys always on, plus one guest (1648 signature). ale can be a bit hit and miss. but has been good recently. the only place to find a half decent ale in the village.

Having visited this pub on many occasions I can thoroughly recommend Highlights are the music evenings on Wednesday and Saturday ,Whilst I live in New Zealand I feel as though I could easily make it my local ,a good selection of beers and a very friendly atmosphere ,full marks to Simon for running the best pub in Hurstpierpoint

Food Choices are excellent and staff are friendly. Looking forward to some decent weather so the outdoors area will be available which should really benifit families with small children. This pub deserves support as its location in a small West Sussex village leaves it vulnerable.

Really lovely Sunday lunch and really friendly staff and locals. Changed from when we were last there as the dining area in more incorperated into the pub. Shame as it was nice as it was... Worth a visit for the fair priced food and the gooner at the bar!

Went in at Christmas (for the first time in many years) and got to say it was pretty good. Real fire, good beer.

Lovely Harveys, and possibly the best Sunday roast I've had in a Sussex pub.

eljefe, you're right! They have done great things with the place. All thats needed now is some heating and a lot more organisation! S & E are really into the swing of things now and I really hope they make it.

S + E have made a big difference to the place since taking over from TBH, looks alot better but then its needed a facelift for a long time. Even the bar staff are looking better ( well some of them anyway )still a pub to have a good old drink in though and a half decent juke box (To JC... told you so x)

As of May 2007 The White Horse has been taken over by new owners!! Give it a try, the atmosphere has completely changed and it's a lovely village pub with something for everyone. It's like a different place. Hats off to the new management for turning it around so quickly

karzi. don't go in.

Used to go here a lot - not a bad pub. The usual Hurst kind og thing; public bar with bare floors, pool tables and heavy drinkers - at the younger end of the age scale. Saloon bar pretty good - real fire, etc, although you have go through the bogs to get from one bar to the other...
