Multi roomed pub. Traditional and a homely local feeling to it unlike the new bars that are springing up around the area. Wainwrights the only ale.

A pub that has been laid out to have a district 'public bar and lounge bar' split. Quite a nice pub, has a fire going at night. Has a range of keg beer going but only does one ale (Doom Bar), which when I had it was not very good. Still an only pub if you're in the area, the locals and the bar staff are quite friendly and it shows sports as well.

This pub has won the distinction of being the worst dump in Liverpool. Even four letters of the pub's name have fallen off and nobody has bothered to replace them, and funnily enough, on a recent visit, nobody bothered to serve us, so we left. With the Tap closed and the Baltic a shadow of its former self, this part of Liverpool is better avoided.

I paid another visit to the sloping Coberg the other day but their sole cask London Pride wasn't on, so I had to make do with a half of wicked Tetleys something or other, which I couldn't finish. To add insult to injury they don't have Sky, so they didn't have the England match on, so we legged it.

If you are staying in one of the nearby hotels, The Coburg is the nearest pub and better than the hotel bars. As mentioned by others the only ale is London Pride, so if you're looking for a good pint better to pop up to The Tap or down to the Baltic. However I quite like the Coburg and curiously it's another Liverpool pub with a sloping floor, with The Globe and The Vernon that makes three!

Saturday was my first visit to the Coburg and probably my last. The one real ale (Pride) was off and the pub didn't justify the walk from the city centre, especially if you have to pass the Baltic Fleet. There are 2 rooms and both are fairly comfortable. Football was showing on the TV. Service was reasonably pleasant and other customers seemed fairly friendly too. There were a few people in. But it wasn't as popular as the Brewery Tap just up the road. Struggling to find anything in particular to recommend.

I must say that the Coburg has improved no end since my last visit. The couple of pints of London Pride that I quaffed on a recent visit were very good indeed and the young man behind the bar couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. This time there was no bad language and the Christmas deccies were a treat.

I found the Coburg rather odd. The bar was empty, sedate and quiet, the lounge on the other hand was frequented by rambunctious local drinkers whose favourite adjective, noun and at times adverb seemed to begin with F, and it wasn't "flippin". Not much more to say about it as the Brewery Tap is only two minutes up the road.

I totally agree with Mr Monkfish . I have been in here twice (staying at local hotel) and both times found the staff and locals friendly and welcoming. Shame there isn't some trad ale, but will deffo go back regardless

live just over the road in the marina, its a good pub. food ok and a decent pint. Could do with some real ale though!!!!

Very ordinary ex dockland pub now modernised and gentrified with bland modern dcor and big clear windows. A drab range of kegs including Carling, Carlsberg, Stella, Strongbow, Guinness and Tetley smooth in various temperature guises. Appears to be very much a locals pub but then it is not near very much except cheap hotels and industrial units. Although it is near some posh dockside apartments I doubt the Coburgs customers live in them.

Terrible attitude - no manners. What more can I say?

Cracking little pub stuck in a lost wilderness of travelodges and Industrial estates in Liverpool. Nicely decorated so as to be welcoming and cosy but also reasonably modern and stylish without being in any way flashy. Bar staff were quick and friendly, prices were excellent and the beer was very drinkable (that's my excuse anyway!). The locals didn't seem to mind a bunch of strange Londoners in their midst and were very friendly. Background music was just that and did the job of giving you something to tap your feet to without killing converstaion. Flat screen TV's show the sport and the barstaff are accomodating if nobody is watching and there is something that you'd like put on instead. The food is excellent both for quality and value (Cajun chicken, highly recommended!). All in all a lovely pub that gets busy enough to have a "buzz" but no so crowded that it gets uncomfortable. If I lived in the area I would definitely be a regular here. Check it out if you are ever in the neighbourhood. I know that I will next time I'm on Merseyside.
