Swan and Harlequin, Favershamback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
I enjoyed drinking Dark Star APA here while watching Premier League matches. Now closed. Bought and converted into a "boutique hotel and restaurant". Sad loss to the football-loving community in Faversham who now have just one choice of Sky Sports/BT Sport pubs, The Bull Inn on West Street.

A pub that has moved on in my opinion. Mark has tried hard to return the pub to a place where a discerning drinker can get a good pint. This has been largely achieved, but the previous reviewer will and can find better ales in Faversham (Elephant, Vaults, Phoenix) Tragically now it looks like this will change into something other than a pub and another drinking hole will be lost. But a tremendous well done to the team at The S&H, from one person that really appreciates how difficult it can be to change things around!

Best pub in Faversham for quality real ale and friendly welcome. We were really surprised by this pub and it is now the only one we really go to. We are fussy about our beer and the pub vibe and this pub wins on both counts. Regular beer on offer is Dark Star American Pale Ale and Hop Head. Also, Mark the landlord and his crew are warm and inviting. The accommodation available is clean as are the loos!

Visited on a Monday night and was pleasantly surprised. This pub has had an unfortunate reputation in the past ~ but now I found it busy, vibrant, clean and welcoming. Nice mixed clientle. The "Going For Gold" bitter, straight from the cask in the cellar, was fantastic and good value. It is clear the licensee and his staff are putting a lot of effort in. It's worthy of support because it really is very good indeed.

I last visited this pub a couple of years ago, and wasn't looking forward to going for a Christmas party there, particually as I was booked in to stay as well. However, I was pleasantly suprised. The rooms have been re-furbished, are clean and have delicate finishing touches. Food was gorgeous, although I didn't do it justice! Breakfast would have lasted me all day, but we also stayed for Sunday lunch. Choice of 3 roast meats, with 9 fresh vegetables. Really couldn't manage the homemade Gypsy tart - but I will next time! I'm now looking forward to the next time. A big "thank you" to Linda and Mark for making me feel so welcome.

I hadn't been to this pub for quite a while, having stopped when it changed character for the worse under the previous landlord.
What a difference, the place has been tidied up, does food and sensibly caters for a mixed clientele. Two Courage ales are regularly on offer, Best & Directors. There is an occasional guest ale, all are well kept. I am told that more would be added if demand rises. On what I've seen so far it could well do that. Would recomment the Sunday roast for 6.95, the wife and I haven't managed to find room for a dessert yet. Give it a try for a pleasant surprise.

It appears the licencee, Dave, was relieved of his personal licence after a misunderstanding with the constabulary (16/12/10). The new DPS has vowed to rid the pub of under-25's, shots, drunkeness etc. I wish him well. But now where are the idiots going to go?
