Bulls Head, Tintwistleback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
If you like a proper country pub that caters for everyone from locals, walkers, mountain bikers, horse riders and dog lovers this is the place to try. The pub is unspoilt and very old - you must have a walk around the whole pub to see how good it really is!! I go walking and biking all over the uk, including the Lakes, Snowdonia, etc., and there is no greater pub that I like to go to than The Bulls Head after a day on the hills!! The pub is so relaxed with a great landlord, who is a real character. The beer is excellent with 2 to 3 ales on - the local brew from Howard's Town is fantastic!! The other regular is Taylors Landlord. The food is very nice and homemade - the homemade thick chips, steak pudding and the cheese and onion pie also make me come back at least once a month!! This pub is well worth a visit - try the Pennine Bridalway first and look forward to going to the pub afterwards! The pub is great throughout the year as they have a huge open fire in the Winter. They also have a nice little beer garden for the odd nice day we get!!

Followed a sign near the reservoir pointing the way to this pub and saying "food served daily between 12 and 9", so was more than disappointed to find the pub closed at half 1 on a Thursday. Is this winter, then? I think someone associated with the pub needs to either remove or change the sign to avoid other people being as disappointed to remain pintless as myself. Thought I would visit the only other pub listed for Tintwistle, but that too was closed! such is life!!

Always wanted to try this pub and it did not disappoint. Had a nice pint of Howard town from Glossop and Homemade steak and kidney pudding with homemade chips it was well worth the price. The girlfriend had the spicy pork hot pot and it was melt in the mouth pork. If you see the signs for the pub when travelling on the woodhead pass make sure you make an effort to try it out.

Homemade Steak pies, puddings, curries etc. Dog, Group and Kid friendly a must if your out and about the longdendale section of the Transpennine trail or staying as I did at Crowden Camp site - now serves food daily although is not open in the day in winter Mon to Thursday. Just re-opened after a 3 month closure. Great new owners, really trying hard to re-instate this pub's place on the map. Food in a couple months (from aug 08). Looking good so far.

What a great little pub this is. Robinson's real ale on the pumps, beautifully kept, with a tiny but wonderful beer garden 'round the side and a couple of tables at the front. Inside has low-ceilings with a dining area, front room, and a little pool room on the right as you go in. A friendly welcome from all - can't recommend it highly enough. :o)
