Hell, not good. Really bad beer and service. Some here really doesn't care.

Real dive. Marstons house. Same old ales. Very poor quality.
Worst pint we discovered on our crawl of Ludlow.

Busy today for the Boxing Day tug of war between teams from this pub and one from the Feathers opposite. Cumberland Ale was good, Pedigree and Cockerhoop were also on sale. More of a locals pub than the Feathers so perhaps not as appealing for tourists but the interior has some character and I consider that it is worth a try if you accept what it is.

Group of us visited Ludlow for the first time. Worst pub been in for a long time! Ale was undrinkable, place is noisy and full of drunken youths. Bar staff just not interested. Wouldn't recommend.
|
Worst experience we've had for sometime. Not very welcoming, rough, and typical Marstons selection of ales, not well served. Not one to recommend.
|
Avoid like the plague! Possibly the worst pub I've seen for a long time. The beer is very poor and the surroundings/customers made us feel very uncomfortable. If this is a Marstons pub, they really need to do something about it.

Absolutely dire! Real ale was terrible, clientele some of the worst, and the place generally not very inviting!

When Chris Barrack used to run this place 25 or so years ago there was no equal...even at the Church Inn.

Oh no!!! not again, I don't believe it. How bad or "piss poor" can Marstens be to allow one of its oldest and possibly one of it's best sites to be in such a poor state. This site is closed yet again due to the fact that the landlords couldn't hack it and started on each other. Come on Marstens get a grip, there will be plenty of capable people able to run this place, just give them a chance.

No sorry still a waste of space.

This grand old place is now on the market, again leasehold, but watch this space as we expect it to be freehold by end of summer. Then we hope some sense to return here. Lets hope it has somthing going for it by the Food Festival.

The landlady was a bit odd and the mulled wine came out of a funny machine which heated it up so a bit disappointing. I'm all in favour of olde worlde pubs but there is a difference between that and a pub in need of a revamp. Not returning.

Very impressive - from the outside ! We had a nice pint of Ludlow Gold here and sat on the comfy chairs but totally lacking in atmosphere and obviously frequented by a younger clientele judging by the loud music. G

Whilst one of the oldest in the town, its got the newest hosts, if your very young in the evening and weekends then its OK for you , otherwise give it a miss.

By no stretch of the most fevered imagination the best pub in Ludlow. Undistinguished selection of ales. A big mention for the food, though. Never mind that the lemon and coriander salmon goujons managed to conceal any flavour of lemon or coriander, how do you cook salmon so that it turns white? It passeth all understanding, if you see what I mean.

The oldest pub in Ludlow and arguably the best. The Bull Hotel stands very central to the town and offers good value Bed & Breakfast rates. The bar keeps cask-conditioned ales and serves good food throughout the day. The 'Bull Yard' really makes this place something special, as the courtyard is tented during the summer and regularly features live bands (often with free entry) and plays host to the majority of the best events at the Ludlow Fringe festival of music (jazz, blues, reggae, rock 'n roll etc.) landlord and lady are hospitable and friendly, whilst the punters come from accross the age spectrum giving the place a vibrant feel. This pub must go in your website as a matter of urgency
