A perfectly good pub if you live in or near the village, or are visiting someone there, but hardly a destination pub as some suggest. The beers are fine, and no doubt the food too, but otherwise its just an ordinary west country village pub.

Whilst working down in the area, me and my 7 workmates came here for a meal. The food was excellent in taste, portion size and very nicely priced. Nice beer from the otter brewery and ciders from the cider farm in the village. What I especially liked was the fact it wasn't a snobby place, it is run by a very friendly and down to earth couple who made us feel very welcome.

Excellent country pub, excellent menu at very reasonable prices, the food was excellent, this pub really is worth a visit and I am sure everyone who goes there will go back again and again which is why it has a good reputation so booking is probably advisable, the village is stunning so the drive there is worth it, can not recommend this pub enough

Excellent country village pub with lounge bar / restaurant and 'village' bar. Very warm welcome and friendly staff. Ales in tip-top condition - Otter Ale and Butcombe - and a very good menu at very reasonable prices.

Nice place for a pint or two. There is a cider farm in the village too, which is usually worth a visit. Well worth a visit.

Excellent pub in a truly beautiful Village which itself is in a lovely part of the country, the very, very friendly owners and locals make you feel extremely welcome, it has a lovely garden, and it is children and dog friendly, our 4 year old keeps asking to go back!! superb rooms and breakfasts that will keep you going all day, very cosy bar and restaraunt which has a very comprehensive Menu, we will definately be returning as will the friends and family we were with.

Nice village pub near the village cider factory! The main attraction for us was the extensive menu of gluten free food - including fish and chips.
The eating area is only medium sized, so worth ringing ahead to reserve a table. You can see the menu on their web site - most of the menu is gluten free.
