Fantastic place... it's actually a large hotel in a lovely building, but tucked away in the wood panelled bar or lovely courtyard and you feel your in the pub... Bass and Hancocks HB beers, (probably more) and lots of lagers, cider and IPAs on tap. Check out the huge wooden door from the courtyard... would seem more in place at the castle a few yards away.. recommended..

The Olde Bull's Head was the second of our Beaumaris pubs. There is a view of the castle at the end of the street. This is a fully functioning hotel. The reception and a lounge are to the right as you enter. There is a bar with a main room and a smaller side room with access to the toilets on the left. The toilet door is one of the smallest I've ever seen. These 2 rooms are very traditional in their nature. But to the rear is a large and modern function/dining room. We were surprised to see a selection of 6 real ales. Some are fetched from this rear function room. The ale selection was Hancocks HB, Bass, Muirhouse Malibrew, Conwy Welsh Pride & Beachcomber Blonde & Lleu Celtic Brew. They also have a rather large collection of gins. The clientele here seemed to be drunk and a touch eccentric. Recommended.

Whoever it was that voted this pub best in Wales 2012 definately needs to get out more. Yes it is worth a visit with its dark wood interior and cosy fire. But best in Wales? Come on.

Oak beamed bar on the main street in Beaumaris, with plenty of character. Serves a couple of real ales, which are reasonably kept. Just a few minutes walk from the castle and worth a visit.

My very first pint in a pub was here. They must have known I was 14 but never bothered me. Worthington E back then!

Again, another very old hotel/pub. Very cozy atmosphere. Hosts a nice fire in the winter time and always has a nice selection of real ales (Bass, HB Hancock, & local Welsh brand Crwr). Being a real ale drinker, I was impressed with the choices and prices. I was alos impressed with the patrons-very nice and talkative-as well as the bar staff-very helpful. Interesting to poke around a see the old ducking stool, weapons, etc. that line the walls. Right around the corner from Castell Beaumaris so it's an easy stroll to have a pint and sit by the fire after examining the castell.
