Ye Old Green Dragon, Brentwoodback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Once upon a time this was run by a Jim Bowen sound-alike and it is still super and smashing and lovely. Please support this pub with its nice beer and owners.

Others who have seen my reviews know they can be scathing, but how I wish this was my local. I've now eaten here three times with others giving a total of over twenty starters, main courses and puddings and each of the meals have been great pub grub. The atmosphere of the British pub is unique and if I had to direct a tourist towards something that unpretentiously meets all that is good of a modern independent local in historic setting I would be happy to point them in the direction of Ye Olde Green Dragon. - St8tsman

I ate here last week and the food was great, the restaurant area has been recently refurbished and is so much nicer than it was.

New owners have been here since June and started doing great food. Recently awarded Cask Marque for beer

This pub has really changed - there is a new landlord and landlady in situ and they are really changing things for the better. No jukeboxes ( but they do have background music) , no tv and no slot machines - exactly what a local country pub should be.
The friendly atmosphere and welcome you receive, makes it worth a visit - not to mention the beer!

This is an ancient inn, part of it dating from the 15th century, on the old turnpike heading towards London through Brentwood. It was ruined in the late 80s and 90s by fools who tried to turn it into a fun pub, but now they have slung out the tv and are making effort with the beer. Now all it needs are some interesting customers to give it a better mix.
