We were in this pub a few weeks ago - we were verbally assaulted and had our own drinks thrown over us by a group of people who hadn't brought drinks/food and appeared to be looking around to steal bags. The bar staff seemed to infer that we were the ones at fault for highlighting wrong doing in their pub! No one in our group has received any acknowledgement of our complaints to their management. Therefore none of us will be returning.

Don't let the outside fool you inside lies a a really good pub. Great staff and a good atmosphere. Definitely worth a stop in.

This place looks so appalling from the outside (I have uploaded a photograph so discerning pub devotees can see what I mean) that I just had to drop in to see if it was a case not judging a book by its cover. Actually it wasnt as bad as I feared, but it wasnt good either. I have been to Government canteens with more character it had a gloomy and dismal feel to it. A Thai menu is displayed on the outside wall. There were a couple of ales on (I have forgotten what they were - nothing special), but I stood at the bar for a short while and as nobody appeared to serve me, my desire to get back to London Bridge got the better of me and I left.

Dont be put off by the exterior (or indeed the area), this is a great place. Its very spacious yet cosy at the same time with favourable clientele. Its a surprisingly large pub as well considering how small it looks from the outside. If youre in the area its worth popping in.

Strange looking place but not too bad. Abbot was OK. Lots of tables and chairs none of which seem to match.
Pool table and table football.
Probably one for the younger clientele but better than expected.

Re: comment below, I think I was one of those people. Beer is fine, food is good with generous portions and it's nice to sit outside in the summer. Much of the clientle, like me, either work or study at Guy's.

We went here at random after following some alternatively-dressed people outside London Bridge station. Pub is great for drinking and chatting downstairs, quite cosy, beer garden of sorts, too. Upstairs the gig venue wasn't bad, but the beers on offer were my pet hates, like spanish and american bottled lagers at high prices...

Challenges one of the golden rules of pubs in overcoming the drawback of a flat roof to come up with a certain acceptability. The strains of 2008 Brooklyn wunderkids Vampire Weekend on the tannoy were apt for the studenty atmosphere.

Excellent pub. Good food menu and while the range of beers isn't as broad as it could be, they are well kept. We used it for a work event and the staff went out of their way to be helpful so if you need a venue around London Bridge, I would highly recommend it to others. I haven't been for the comedy or music but have been told that it is very entertaining.

We stayed at London Bridge Hotel, and went for a walk in the area. We went in and was surprised by the decor, service, and food. It was fine thought the selection of beer was scares. We made it our "local" pub and will most certainly go back.

Pretty decent pub, much improved since its refurbishment, mix of locals Guy's hospital staff and students, tends to be quiet during the week but gets busy on Friday nights. Usually has 2 ales on tap, a selection of wines and reasonable food, pool table in the back room, function room upsatirs and 2 other seating areas. A nice place to go in the summer as the tables outside catch the evening sun.

Went there at about 4pm on a Tuesday afternoon - pleasantly suprised. Relaxing environment, nice staff, pool room...but no hand dryer in the gents! Not overly impressed with the draught beer selection though. Would be interested to see it on a Friday or Saturday night though.

'The Miller' sits in the shadow of Guy's Tower, amid three council estates. It has just reopened (March 2005) after refurbishment to a very high standard, with a new sophisticated menu - the likes of which can normally only be found in the West End.
It sits amid three council estates...
