Beautiful village. Typical Olde English pub. Good on a beautiful summers day.

Just been re-furbished...lovely welcome, lovely food and first class ale...can't fault the place...well done...great place....

Having had the George and Dragon recommended to me, I was disappointed on my visit. Although the beer was reasonably well kept, little else impressed. The menu looked like hearty fare, but when the food arrived it was disappointingly below average. The sausages which I was served were tasteless and had a bizarre synthetic texture - they also seemed to release a lot of air when cut open! I like a traditional pub interior, but feel that the G&D is overdone on this score, achieving a very oppressive atmosphere coupled with quite dark lighting in the lounge area. The toilets were also unpleasant. This is a shame, as Great Budworth is a beautiful village, and I enjoyed visiting the village itself - if only the G&D upped it's game a bit.

on my visit to england my family took us to the george and dragon, we were not too impressed with the service at the bar so we did not stay for lunch.

Beautiful location. Have been going to this pub occasionally for years. Won't be making the trip specially any more. Now has a listless and unloved feel. Where once there was a perfectly kept pint of TT Landlord to look forward to, now it's ordinary beers and cynically churned out food (a very tough lamb knuckle, mash & veg irradiated in the microwave before it hit the table). No competition nearby.

Lovely place and lovely beer in a lovely setting. Worth seeking out.

Very friendly atmosphere. Good beer and quite exceptionally good food - don't be put off by the simple menu, it's the quality that makes the difference.
A true gem, always a favourite for Christmas Eve.

Had a nice red and the missus a nice white. Reasonable price, friendly staff. What lets the place down is the little things. The large un-tended flower beds out front, the cheap plastic furniture around the side, the toilets need attention (get rid of the dodgy novelty condom machine). The pub sign is lovely and my visit gave me much pleasure.... just watching the medieval church and some lovely swallows and butterflies.... just need to attend to a few things and this will be a gem.

This lovely pub serves up 2 usually well kept guest ales. Many of which are from smaller but well known breweries.

Glutton must visit some exceptional pubs if he finds it grim and dingy! This is a really pleasant pub that serves good cask beer in a delightful village, and is the starting point for many excellent walks.

Grim & dingy !

Excellent olde world feel, without feeling like someone's spent money distressing the place. Superb location and beer, but the food been going downhill for the last few months - let's hope it picks up soon.

The pub has a wonderful charm which compliments the village style. Black and white timbered houses and cobbled streets denote a pleasing look back into English life and the pub, with its ivy covered walls, continues the attractive setting. The church opposite see's regular visits within my historical research and what better way to unwind than with one of the two well kept and regularly changed Real ales. It is my choice in the Northwich/Warrington area.

lovely pub in a superb little village. i was served a bad guest pint, but it was changed without question (although the replacement was only just better!) well worth a visit.

As a local please park sensibly when visiting my pub. Usually good beer, food to the high point but basic, the village is pretty (Cheshire Life style), the stocks have been made health and safety friendly - the hole are much too big to restrain drunkards.

I totally agree with the two comments made about the pub id give it nine out of ten.

A delightful, charming 15th Century hostelry set in a picturesque cobblestoned village. Adjacent to the church of a similar period the pub exudes charm and character. Real ale is the speciality, drink a great pint and study the ancient stocks in the beer garden and the 400 year old graffitti on the pub wall.
