First time here for many a year, hardly recognised it. Bit more foodie than even my local, The Refectory, in Milford with all tables laid for lunch. However there was no problem with us sitting at the bar but that is it, there is nowhere else. We had Shere Drop and one from Ascot. I think were a couple other real ales on. Quality was reasonably good.

This place is absolutely beautiful. I can only assume that it went under refurb recetnly, hence the lower ratings but I was here for lunch on Saturday and sat in the garden round the back. Food was excellent (good value) and service was great. They even had a small TV to catch up on the Lions game. It is very much a high end pub but I cant recommend enough. Toilets are good too in case you're interested!

Definitely not shut, unlike what this page says! Fantastic real ales. Excellent food but not cheap.

Super refit. Whole place looks fabulous and the garden is a delight. Wonderful friendly greeting and a marvellous waitress. Alas, the food was not what you would expect - wasn't a thing on the plate that wasn't over-cooked or under-cooked. Give them a chance to settle in though - will be back.

Reopened last night. Looks fantastic after complete refit. Can't wait to go back.

Reopening in June, with the bar back in place !!

Closed down, in liquidation.

How sad that a nice pub was ruined in this way.

Let's hope someone takes it on soon - they could start by putting the bar back!

Oh dear, another pub ruined by being turned into an eatery. The bar has been ripped out and relegated to a small servery in the corner. Why do people do this?

A lesson on how to remove any atmosphere from a pub.

Oh dear, what has happened to this once lovely gastro pub. It appears new owner, an overly zealous and really quite irritating man has decided to turn it into what can only be described as a brothel. The colous are horrific, and the whole atmosphere has gone. Also food is mediocre.

Such a shame this was a great place to socialise and spend your evening.

They have taken out the main bar, so nowhere for "locals" to hang out.

Will not be returning until new owners and restored to its former self.

i have to say our food was very mediocre and there are several much better establishments around. the service was average at best.

Re-posted as the owners obviously try to censor anything that isn't platitudinous or complimentary about the place. So...

"Pleasant place, amenable and well meaning staff.

However: that amenability did not stop them from delivering the most hapless and hopeless service I have experienced in years. Not one big issue, but a series of small ones that cumulated into an all-round waste of time on our part.

That said: when the crunch inevitably came and they were politely challenged on the same; the manager responded with grace and professionalism, and did his best to retrieve the situation. All too late.

Ultimately, to no avail, because we won't be back - and, like all dissatisfied customers, have related our experience to probably 10 others already...."

We stayed here for three nights and would recomend it. It's a very modern, gastropubby type place, but the drinks were good (a very nice pint of TEA), the staff were friendly and helpful and there was a good choice on the menu. The food's not cheap (10 for ham egg and chips) but this is an affluent area and it was very good, thick slices of ham, lovely chips plus two eggs!
They could have done with more cider (Strongbow on draft and Magners in bottles) but it's probably par for the course in this area.
Well worth dropping in.

Very smart restaurant, not much pub. Pleasant Garden. London Pride and Hogs Back TEA available at usual eye watering Surrey prices.

My visit to the Swan Inn was an extremely pleasant surprise. Great food (British and French), impeccable service in stylish surroundings. Its large garden makes for a great summer drinking destination.

Went there last Saturday. Food very good, and service excellent. Expensive, but restaurant is quite upmarket.
