Love this beautiful village pub. Very small, usually only 2 or 3 ales on but always very well kept. Glorious food, friendly staff and regulars. Had a lovely pint of Nethergate's Umbel ale on last visit. Going back very soon...

Tried the new carvery here a couple of weekends ago, for a small country pub it was great. Choice of 3 different meats, the roast potatoes were fab(could of done with a second choice of potato though,ie,boiled potatoes or mash) HUGE yorkshire puds and a good choice of desserts, both courses for under a tenner too!

If you haven't visited this pub for a while, i am sure you will be impressed with all the changes taken place. There is a good varied choice of drinks available, its not the same old drinks all the time. To be honest, i do think that the food menu could be improved, but the prices are very reasonable and everything that i have sampled so far has been ok, just wish there was a bit more of a choice. The decor is lovely, and also the courtyard garden is lovely too. Another bonus has to be the fact that it is open lunchtime onwards everyday, and they open Monday evenings for food too, not many places in the area open Mondays.

nice friendly little place, also very cozy in winter with the open fire. have eaten there e few times and food was very good, they also have a takeaway service, which is handy.

Now under new management (Ash, James & Yvonne). Their energy in revitalising this venue is amazing. The food is simple but excellently cooked (try the hand made chips!) there is a first rate wine list, music evenings, take away fish & chips and not forgetting good beer!
Lets hope the trio can keep up the enthusiasm !

This is my local pub and I don't apologise for supporting it wholeheartedly. Maurice and Carolyn have made a great start in updating the look and feel of the Fox with open fires and excellent beer. Looking forward to the new Wine Menu and to food - bar snacks and hopefully soon, a full restaurant menu too. Come along and see Steeple B soon and drop in the "The Fox"

One of two pubs in Steeple Bumpstead. Both had fallen on hard times due to brewery and property company neglect. Now being refurbished by skilled craftsmen ( The Bumpstead Building Co-Operative ). The Red Lion has been overhauled by Angie and Jim and is offering a family friendly experience with Sunday Lunches to die for. The Fox offers wonderfully kept IPA and a guest ale each week. Maurice and Carolyn welcome all and invite them to try the "New" Fox and Hounds. Open all day !
