Backstreet pub away from the town centre, but close to a large casino. It was busy with locals. Some were playing each other at pool. One lady in particular was clearly a very good player! The interior is basic. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. Ales were Everard's Tiger, Moorhouses White Witch, Timothy Taylor Boltmaker, Exmoor Gold, Pitchfork Single Header, Abbeydale Prophecy, Morland Old Speckled Hen & Goose Eye Pommie's Revenge.

£2 for pie and peas, with complementary mint sauce.

Superbly kept beers in the traditional style, subtly flavoured and not too assertive. Attentive, knowledgeable staff, and friendly punters. Get involved.

One of my regulars for years and still one of the best real ale pubs in Bradford. The beer selection is always interesting and should have something to please everyone. I would also recommend their lunchtime hot and cold food (weekdays only I think) which is excellent and amazing value for money. The choice is fairly limited but covers the usual things like Chile, pie and peas and sandwiches. I last had the Corn Dolly Special sandwich filled with deliciously tender beef, ham and chicken and it was a massive plateful, an absolute bargain!

An excellent range of local real ales and some very tasty food at very affordable prices. Lunch times seem to be well patronised by office workers from nearby buildings. A must when visiting Bradford.

Cracking pub. Really good selection of real ales. Just up from Forster Square railway station. Definately one of Bradford's best...well worth a visit!

A good reliable ale house with a good choice of guest beers, at lower than average prices. Not far from Bradford Forster Square railway station

The beer quality at the Corn Dolly has always been excellent. And its a great pub for the beer selection as I think they usually have 8 or 9 pumps on the go. The guest ales usually include some excellent golden ales. The place could do with a few quid spending on a refurb though. But its still a top pub with a friendly atmosphere.

Its a long lonely walk up Bolton Road now that the Ring-O-Bells and the Goldborough are closed. This place however still packs em in. Best pub in Bradford and Bradford has some great pubs.
I think there was around eight different ales on. Cant remember what I had but I know it was good, it always is.
Look above your head and on every beam and on every wall are pump clips. My calculation - over a thousand. Pie and peas 1.70. The old style small brass planished tables and buffets. The only thing that looks out of place is the pool table.
A pub like pubs used to be only better. 9.

Hard to fault, I've been frequenting this pub for over ten years.

Constantly changing selection of real ales (Always four guest ales, as well as Black Sheep and several others resident) friendly bar staff, and whilst they do food, it's kept to a sensible selection of light bar lunches so as not to detract from the drinking.

Avoid Thursdays... it's Pool night, and if there is a home match that can be half of the pub taken up. On other nights though, the Pool table is 40p a go - bargain!

Just has one TV and no Sky...you can figure out yourself if that is a good or bad thing.

Popped in for a post-match drink and the two of us sampled Kelham Island Pale Rider; Bowland Sleigh Belle and George Wright Five Gold Rings. Black Sheep and Everard's Tiger were also on offer, plus at least another one or two other ales. All were excellent and the atmosphere was good. After a few mins, we even had a table to ourselves - although it was still busy, Highly recommended.

Fine single bar pub with black oak beams and a real country pub feel within easy walking distance from Bradford city centre, close to the cathedral.

On my visit, there were 8 pumps serving a good range of real ales from local micros, including Fernandes from Wakefield. The inevitable Black Sheep was also on. I had a pint of Moorhouses Mild.

Note the fine collection of pumps clips and brewery mirrors.

There's also some photos of former Bradford City football teams - the stadium is visible from just outside the pub

Despite being a single bar, there's two distinct areas, one housing a pool table and a number of horse racing pictures. The other side is more food orientated, serving good value lunches, which include massive doorstep sized sandwiches.

This is a warm and welcoming pub, well worth seeking out.

I accept that my knowledge of Bradford pubs is rather limited, but, based on my recent visit, if I only had time to visit one pub in Bradford again, I think this would be the one I'd make for.

The station it is up from Is Forster Square, up the side of the retail park carpark and up the hill. Bradford has two stations, the other is the Interchange about 10 mins walk if you know where you are going.

Run by the Donkin family since 1989, the Corn Dolly has gone from strength to strength as outlined by the numerous awards on the pub walls.

Friendliest place on earth. Great building, good pool table, 4 guests at a time with quick turnover. Staff excellent. Unpretensiously charming. Only drawback is the beer garden is the car park and it can get quite hot. On balance, probably the best in the city.

Great pub, large range of real ales in excellent condition. Really cosy place with a blazing fire, most welcome on a chilly evening; locals very friendly and ready to chat to a couple of Southerners - great atmosphere and a must-visit next time I'm in Bradford. Slightly off the beaten track to the north of the city centre but definitely worth a diversion.

Near the centre and a real haven/oasis of real ale. Barman can be a little surly but the selection of real ales is fantastic. Pool table and real fires. Good cross section of the public go in here. Off the beaten track but on a bus route. Fancy a pint there tomorrow night?
