The fire started in a flat over the pub, and nobody seems to have been hurt. Unlikely to reopen as pubs down this side of the High Street are dying.
Even the Wetherspoons - The Grapes, just up the road - closed a short while ago. All the busy pubs are towards the station, including the remaining spoon.

Sadly, the Crown suffered a fire on 5th August 2018. Going to be closed for quite a while.

TT's Landlord - £2.80 a pint. Deserves a 9 at least!!
Refurbished & now one bar, surprisingly a good job, retains a local feel. Two ales, three TVs and a dart board. Far more hospitable than it was

Looks big on the outside. Pokey on the inside. Had Bombardier on - very badly kept and not worth drinking. Regulars seem to be largely pikies and chavvy builders. Best avoided if you like beer or you don't have webbed feet and a sister you call "mummy"

was in here last night,a traditional style pub with 2 rooms.was drinking carling as had a lager day ,which me and mate thought was a very good pint.beer on was bass.nice to see a pub with a juke box.was made very welcome by the long serving landlord.worth a visit if you are down this end of high street.

Like walking into the 7th circle of hell. The pint of Fosters tasted like it had been stuck in the pipes for a few months, the seats stank indescribably bad and the locals appeared to be the cast from "Dawn of the Dead" as they moaned and clawed at the TV showing the Saturday racing. Won't be returning.

what is all this about the crown ? if anyone got to know it you would find its the best pub in sutton granted its small but the blokes & girls(not that many) are top stuff it looks rough & ready but if you want a bet on a sat or any other day its your place the govnor is old school and its safe witch in sutton is hard to come by try it you will be surprised it really is top stuff

Great pub, nice people and serves the best pint of Guinness in town!
|
The Crown is the best pub in Sutton. Food is fantastic, staff work hard to accomodate the customers needs. One particular barman who i think is named Paul is the best barmen i have ever seen work. The landlord can be a bit of a miserable old sod but his hearts in the right place.

Sent a voucher offering a free pint of Carling. Went to use voucher but was told they weren't honouring the deal. Voucher was valid and in date. Just a ploy to get you in the pub. Go elsewhere there are plenty honourable and truthfull publicans in Sutton. Dishonest deals like this do not encourage repeat custom. Pubs that treat customers this way deserve to do badly!!
|
good pint of carling went in last saturday around 13.30 ,3 people in the public and 2 in saloon got talking to 1 of the customers and he told me all the customers are going to the grapes and it is 80p difference in the price and 1.50 on a monday so i went to the grapes and it was packed

Freindly. A bit cliecky. every one checks out new arrivals, I don't think it's meant in a bad way.Good food lunch times. Beers fine. Glasses are clean, Prices are not exceptional.

Lovely pint of John smiths in here. Is a bit of a locals pub, but is friendly, clean and relaxing all the same.
|
whats the deal with the guy with "bug" eyes who sits outside everyday?? him and the other wasters seem to revel in staring at people who walk past
|

Look out for Scouse Eddie, he's a crafty old git.
|
Was alright on a Friday evening. Be prepared to be stared at by the regulars. Nice interior and plenty of seats in what is a small building.
|
Rough and Ready pub, but the bar staff are friendly
