It's much better now, than formerly, as the volatile pit of hell known as "Edwards". If you like 80's pop music, you'll love it here. Sometimes the bar can be a bit busy, so you can wait a while to get served, and the toilets are up a steep flight of stairs, but other than that it's generally good fun in here. Although they do charge admission later in the evening these days.

Again typical Reflex Bar - great fun, cheesey tunes and some fab drink offers! Not for people who take life too seriously. - same as flares except different decade although we had a bit of bother from a few lads who wouldnt leave us alone but if dealt with politely they usually leave us girlies alone.

Oh, and I've heard (obviously I don't go often, as far as I remember) there are hardly ever fights any more.

Just don't go sober.

Don't. Just don't. Usually full of the evolutionary pondscum who inhabit the establishments further up Micklegate, and not helped at all by door staff with negative IQs.

revolving dance floor... good in theory, in practice not so great. Loads of dirty old fellas oggleing the young girlies. Sticky and ew! awful drinks! although if you are a student who doesnt like to go where all the other students then this is the place to go (or nexus - nexus is good though!)

If you can have a drink in here without witnessing, or getting involved in,a brawl, than you've done very very well.

They only got 2 marks on the basis of the cheesy 80's tunes, which, are quite good fun sometimes. There really is nothing else to recommend it for (see comments re sticky carpet etc!!!)

Is now a Reflex of that chain, not my sort of place alas, sticky floor, load music trying to replace atmoshpere and sickly sweet bottled drinks instead of anything of interest. But then again it does have a revolving dance floor.....

Formerly 'edwards', now one of the 'Reflex' chain of pubs. Cool eighties tunes, good offers in the week, gets rammed on a weekend, lack of effective ventilation means it can turn into a bit of a sweat shop but if your out for a party this place is essential.
