Now the Warwick.
Im amazed that a pub serving up Greene King IPA and Abbot can be so pretentious.
I overcame the urge to sit with the oh yas in the sofa section at the rear and I knocked back my half and left.

Had 1 big drink in this place before recent changes - and wish I hadnt, crikey it was pricy and the most unwelcoming barstaff.

Used to enjoy going to this pub. Very friendly staff and quality gov. Seems he got the chop and now prices have gone through the roof while service and food has dropped. Doesnt merit its prices anymore. No beers on draught now. Thought this was a Greene King. I now prefer the Marquis (quality and good beers) and the new Page(good service, good food but pricey, mines a Los Cardos. Why cant good pubs last?

One of the most over priced, up its own arse pubs I've ever had the misfortune to go into in the SW1 area. It only gets a 1 from me - and thats for being able to get out quick !
|
3.50 for a bog-standard glass of house red and full of overflowing ashtrays which the clueless barstaff showed no inclination of cleaning. Criminally overpriced and rubbish.

used to go in reularly couple of years back...popped in recently 3.10 for a FOSTERS!!!!! enough said wont be going back.....right poncefest in there now

Possibly - but it was the Princess Royal until some time pre 1997 when it became the Orange Kipper (see comment re crappy made-up names).
|
Re-named The Warwick. Does anyone know if this was this pub's original name before it was The Hedgehog and Pheasant? (Isn't it fantastic, by the way, that these crappy, made-up names which desecrated so many pubs in the 80s/90s are finally disappearing...?!)

Re-opened a few days ago after a re-fit. Has tried to go a bit more upmarket with some ornate furniture, some sofas and a more stylish colour scheme. However, it is still attracting scrotes in football tops. A name change may be on the cards because when I passed by the other day it was name-less outside.

I came across this pub by chance when looking for a place to eat on a Sunday night. I was on my sister's hen-night and we wanted somewhere close to our hotel and not too expensive. This pub was great, not very full but the staff were really friendly and helpful. We were seated in a small room at the back which we had to ourselves. The menu was fairly limited and NO deserts!! They had just taken over the pub and were getting settled in. I was a bit miffed at first but the food was fabulous and v filling I couldn't have eaten a pudding anyway!!! We had an excellent night very relaxed and very reasonably priced. If I lived in London this would become a regular haunt. GREAT.

This pub served the worst beer I've had in a long time in london. The Kronenburg was flat and the Abbot ale was watery. They also stopped serving food just after 8 - far too early. They've got quite a good screen for the footie but 5 minutes after the game finished the pub was empty apart from a couple of nutcases and us - avoid.

Can get very noisy and full-on towards the end of the week. Have seen the occasional odd/dodgy character(s) in here which can give the place a slightly on-edge atmosphere, though to be fair have never had any problems. Usual beers/lagers.

Decent alternative if the Page is full. A little brash and noisy and football dominates so not the sort of place you'd take your date too! Trouble is the Hedgehog does not know what sort of pub it wants to be. Looks classy from one angle, then you see the football shirts around the fruit machine!

Seems to be changing hands every other week, hence the ever changing bar staff. Apart from that it is a good pub, show the football and never too busy. Good for a pint and watching the locals out the window

My god whats happened to this one...... guess another night in

For an all bar one knock of this one is not at all bad. There are several positive things I can say about this pub, unfortunateley none of them relate to the food. The burger shouold be avoided at all costs as it gives the impression of being made of recycled Dunlop Green Flash Plimsoles. The deep fried stuff is the safest bet. They do however sell an unusually large selection of billtong, including Bambi. However the service is relatively quick, they always show football on a big screen, and if you turn up a littel early you can allways get a seat and aha clear view from one of the three screens.

The food is terrible, the atmosphere is appalling, and the staff are unhelpful. The only thing it has is a big screen, but oher than that go next door to the Page.
