As noted, it's now more of a gastro-pub so feels obliged to trade under the silly name of the Picked Ploughman. 2 real ales on offer: Ringwood Razorback (pleasant but not exceptional) and Young's (ordinary) Bitter which was a bit iffy. Both rather expensive. Clean and pleasant establishment. Food was good - as it should be for the price. There's nothing fundamentally wrong with the place (other than the renaming perhaps) but I won't be rushing back.

This pub is now called the Pickled Ploughman. It is primarily an eating establishment these days. But it still do a couple of real ales. On my Tuesday evening visit, there was Sneck Lifter & Mad Goose. A few of the staff were gossiping at the end of the bar, whilst another group sat at a table were the only others in. But I suspect it was much busier earlier in the evening whilst dinner was being served. Has a thatched roof.

This is a note rather than a review as it based on one short visit. Very quiet, about 9pm, staff and landlord seemed friendly enough. Only one beer on, Bombardier, not bad but I didn't want a second. Menu looked ordinary but that's all I can say about the food. No rating but on the poor side of OK.

Dropped in for a pint and lunch. Place was full of families eating. Beer was OK (Chas Wells). There were only a couple of vegetarian options on the menu, which is surely unacceptable in this day and age (I want to see at least ten things on offer). Having said that, what I had was good.

This pub has new people in charge, young couple with loads of energy. good menu with big portions. Nice beer and nice atmoshpere. Forget all previous comments.

Not a drinking pub so beer is mediocre. Landlord prefers diners (It was the only pub in the village to close during the afternoon on the day of the Adderbury Beer Festival!?!).It relies on trade from the nearby caravan park although many prefer to go into the centre of the village to the Bell because of its award winning cask ale and food.

Took the missus for a meal at this pub.
Was "welcomed" at the bar by the landlord who came across as sarcastic and abrasive. Seemed to want to bizarrely score points for no reason whatsoever.
Sat down and looked at an un - inspiring menu before leaving a fiver to cover the drinks and going somewhere much better.
This place used to be alright.

This pub has recently undergone a facelift and it is much improved. Chas Wells beers plus a guest. The trade seems to be improving and the beer was quite decent. Still quiet, the menu seems quite good and reasonable. Worth a visit.
