Dismal. Every negative comment on here has it about right including the behavior of the bouncers - which wouldn't be all bad if it didnt also reflect the behavior of the punters.

cant believe this place is still going, used to drink here years ago with mates after a night of debauchery in Fulham and decided once again to take a look a few months back.......still the same, does what it says on the tin, if you're absolutely leathered looking for a bit of last minute booty this is the place.....thats if you can manage NOT to get into a fight with the roid raging doormen!!
|
Blimey the Fez, that takes me back a bit, I didn't realise it was still open. always good for a laugh but to be honest I was normally hammered by the time I went in there anyway.
|
Doormen are aggresive and forget that they are only DOORMEN! at the FEZ!!!! 12pounds to get in, a total waste of time. Save the 12quid get beers from the off license and head to yours

Ignore all the muppets on this website. The Fez is the best night out in London.
What evidence you say?
1) It has huge industrial fans all over the dancefloor. Men release smells after drinking. Fans are good. 2) No techno has ever been played here. Pure cheese is standard - result. 3) You can go here if you are in your 30s and still feel young..girls 4) There are invariably very few Fulham toffs. I have never seen a blue shirt with a white collar combo in this place. 5) It has a flashing rubiks cube dancefloor very Travoltaesque I must say 6) Adams kitchen is nearby a very tasty piece of local roadkill can be acquired here for a not too unreasonable sum 7) My mate Phil was ejected from the Fez on a Thursday night (for dancing) what club would do that but the Fez. God bless the good ship, and all who sail in her. 8) The music is pure cheese not everyone wants Armand Van Halen and lots of computers playing music. Indeed why would you when you can have Madonnas lucky star. 9) There used to be a VIP area where you could smoke shi-shahs and look out over the peasants whilst they danced. Very Puff Daddy. 10) Ok, the bouncers are thugs but at least they will acknowledge you as they throw you down the stairs on entering the club. Do you get this in Fulham? No. 11) I have never seen a ropey chicken in there. Quality is guaranteed. If you disagree check out their website and look at the photo gallery. 12) Its 500 yards from my house.
The End.

This place has been slated but it's actually not that bad. It is a bit of a meat market, but when you go in a group it's fine. We used the guest list facility and cut the busy queue. The front bar is the best place to sit as it's not as noisy as the dancefloor bar.
|
So awful it should be closed for the sake of humanity. Avoid unless you are a masochistic alcoholic who cannot get hold of some Special Brew.

This place... oh christ this place... avoid like the plague, it's a ghastly venue, reserved for only the drunkest party monkeys on a midweek rampage.
|
This club is shocking. You always have to queue to get in, normally 10 minutes or more and when you get in the place is invariably empty. The bouncers are always aggressive and unhelpful and the music is total shite.
The drink is also very expensive. I've been there about 10 times, not once have I had a good night in there.
Avoid at all costs.

Spent New Year's Eve there.
It wasn't bad once we were inside - good music, not too crowded, reasonable prices and lots of bar staff.
But, having put our names on the guest list, we arrived just a few minutes after the ridiculous 11pm deadline, we then had to Q in the cold and pay 20 each, instead of 15.
|
A group of 7 of us (all girls) went to the Fez club for a work night out on a Thursday recently. We turned just before 11pm, the agressive door staff made us queue for about 5 minutes in the freezing cold and after complaining a member of staff came out and gave us free entry. After receiving the most thorough search I have experienced (I had to surrender my bottle of water) we were eventually allowed to enter, and when we told the door staff that we were surprised about the way we were treated (I had been two weeks before on a Saturday and was allowed in with no queue or search) they became quite agressive and tried to eject us. When we eventually made it in we were astounded that the place was completely empty. Recommendation to management of the fez club - have a word with your door staff as they are the must jumped up, agressive, power hungry idiots that I have had the misfortune to come across. Also why don't you stock red wine??

From my knowledge this bar with a dance floor (you cant really bring yourself to call it a club) has had several changes of ownership in the past few years. None able to stamp any authority or character on the place.
Most people use it as a late night watering hole when the rest of the far better bars surrounding it in Putney are closed.
Take a second to close your eyes and picture a poorly lit cellar with no ventilation, no fire exits, over priced booze, and unpleasant rohypnol carrying men strutting their stuff on a badly done illuminated dance floor - now youve saved yourself the trouble of visiting Fez.
|
can someone please buy this club so we can have a decent place to go after 11pm.
|
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....Easily the WORST 'club' I have ever had the mis-fortune of frequenting. Absolute horse..........
|
I'm not saying it's a great club, it's never been a GREAT club, even when it was called the K Bar.
I'm just saying that it's not as bad as some of you make it out to be (and I have no vested interests here).
If you want to go to a great club, you'll either have to go to Soho or Manchester or Bolton or some other town in northwest England where they know how to club big time.

Went to Fez on Friday night as there isnt much choice after 11 in Putney. 8 entry.....for what? Music was terrible, sounded like it was trying to be house/drum n bass but in reality it was an endless trance CD turn up loud, well done for having speakers.
Drinks were an outrage. Stayed for a round of spirits and were told that we couldnt order single measures, doubles were compulsory. Not sure on the legality of an establishment with this policy but it was quite clear they were just draining all our cash without providing much in the way of entertainment.
After reading the only positive comment on this site from Tizer, its clear that my comments are shared with everyone else. Tizer, you wrote 'the doorstaff are good once they know you', thats ridiculous, sounds like a good way to turn people off ever going again. You are basically agreeing with everyone here.
Totally agree with the required overhaul of the ID checking system or lack thereof. Its a club not a kindergarten.
Instead of walking in the door, pool your money with your friends and get a cab to Fulham. As far as late licence clubs go this one needs a wake up call.
|
So overpriced. Bar staff slow. General staff rude. Bit of a hole. Music used to be okay but now absolute rubbish. Will never go here again, unless I get stupidly drunk and want to carry it on somewhere else...again.

As everywhere is else in Putney is getting better. It's a shame that the Fez is still a stinking dump!!!!!
|
You can knock the Fez Club, but as a resident of SW London, I can tell you there aren't many clubs to go to in the area if you don't fancy going to the West End. I've had some great nights there, I've never been asked to put my ciggy out and the doorstaff are good once they know you.

A colleague of mine decided to celebrate her birthday in the Fez last night, and I'm still struggling to understand why.
The bouncers are stupidly rude. I don't understand why they order people to extinguish cigarettes outside the venue. It's in the street for crying out loud.
Downstairs you are given a ticket when you pay the overpriced door charge, and have it taken from you less than 2 feet from the place you got it from. Point?
The music is awful. The barstaff need a lot of training as most of them still use the cocktail menus as guidance (one actually asked for mine back while I was choosing a shooter). The age of a good 50% of the customers was laughable. At the young, but legal age of 23, I was made to feel ancient in this place.
Unless you're 15, a typical rudeboy, or so geezeresque that you wear a dufflecoat in stupidly high temperatures, stay away from this place at all costs.

What a hole !! My first and last time in this overpriced venue, the doorstaff were rude !! asking me to put out my fag ( i was in the street) the barman didnt know the shooter menu and made it up as ha went along , the drinks were so small that you couldnt get drunk if you wanted to . I am a bar manager myself and now I know not what to do. P.s its full of rude boys and children.

I revisited 'The Fez Bar' last night for the first time in a year to see one of my colleagues 'Disc Jokeying'. Kam and we had tears in our eyes as we watched 'DJ Sween CSA' on the decks. I must say, I was on the guest list so therefore did not have to suffer the descrimination of the venue being cheaper for ladies. As for the toilets... whey! much better after the refit. Louise of CSD fame agrees. Me and Kam had a wonderful evening. Kam and I shall be revisiting.
|
They still can't sort the men's toilets out!! the Qs are worse after the refurbishment! Still worth a visit though

D Symons - 27 Jan 2003 01:28 |
More of a club than a bar but worth visiting! 6 before 11 (half price for the ladies) 8 after that. open till 3am every day. Got some Moroccan theme to it. Small bar room with seaating. Dance floor in next room with another bar - the dance floor lights up. Absinthe is a must if you visit!
