Forgot to add to previous comment, this is now a freehouse, and no longer tied to Greene King

A great traditional pub that currently serves 4 well kept ales. The Maggs Mild is a particular favourite of mine. It has a loyal band of locals , but is extremely welcoming to new visitors. There are regular quiz nights and music events, but don't expect food. Re an earlier 2013 comment....the toilets have been re-decorated to a very high standard.

One of the best ale houses in a town that is not too long on them. This is a regulars' pub, although not unfriendly, located well off the main vertical circuit, but only a few minutes walk from the town centre. The pub is homely rather than smart, with a divided front room and a back room that hosts poker tournaments and other activities. There is also regular live music and a fearsome quiz. There are usually two guest ales from the GK list.

A pub that has appeared in the Good Beer Guide a few times. Usually 3 or 4 ales available. Quite small inside with the bar area divide in two and a function room in the rear. Host quiz nights, poker evenings and the occasional live music too. Not a pub that I personally would make a beeline for but at least it's good to see pubs like this surviving in the face of so many closures.

7/10.

Great little community pub with plenty of things going on, decent beer from regional breweries in excellent condition and a nice welcoming atmosphere with customers of all ages and backgrounds.

one of the best pubs in Aldershot

Great pub. Excellent beer. We had a couple of pints of moorhouse which was spot on. Some fun pub games and just a great friendly local pub.

From the outside one wonders how this place keeps going, as it looks like all those good old pubs that closed long ago. Take a step inside and you will find a real gem of a place.

A really good, old fashioned pub. The natives are very friendly. Nice choice of real ales from interesting small brewers.

Interesting and sometimes eclectic themed nights e.g. retro computer games.

Well worth a visit

I wasn't expecting much from a drink in Aldershot in advance of the 2011 FA Cup tie that saw the Shots take on Maidenhead United at home but this proved to be an eminently enjoyable stopping off point - friendly service and a couple of decent ales on tap + a fearsomely strong cider out of a barrel all made for a convivial atmosphere - relaxed and far from busy on a match night.

A cosy local with a 'lived-in' feel to it. A GK house but has real guest ales on. The Copper Dragon wasn't too great though but the Okells Olde Skipper was a nice pint.

First visit for three years on Saturday and what a surprise - a mini beer festival and a cracking little combo playing music. I didn't see any advertising for this event which seemed to be well attended. Good stuff.

I really thought this pub was going to close as it seemed to be badly hit by the smoking ban.

Still lovely beer and friendly staff!

Green King IPA, Abbot and H&H Olde Trip were available on my visit. Olde Trip was in good form. A far superior and friendly establishment when compared to the neighbouring pubs.

Very traditional cosy, definitely above average GK pub and IPA pretty good as well. Recommended.

You know that comfy old pair of slippers clich ?
Imagine if someone sneaks that pair of slippers away, has them cleaned, relined, puts hi-tech tootsie warmers in them, and then they come back feeling even more comfy and even warmer yet looking like new!! And with a great pint of real ale to boot.

Thanks KT & Alan a job well done!!

Great little pub,
This is truly a traditional english country pub just outside the town centre,
was taken over in june 05 by katy Agnew.
there have been extensive works undertaken not only outside but inside also,
the accomadation is fantastic with all onsuit facilitys, double & twin rooms avai. with the best ale in town a little limited but if you are a regular, local just ask and kt will put on great session beer's if that what is requested.the pub has fantastic local people of all ages and back grounds by far the best quiz night around with all of the moneys won going to local charity's (optional).Only a little pressure, thur's night. every third mon blue grass come along and jam.there are many pubs in aldershot some good pubs some not so good this little pub has it all friendly, clean, warm and most of all a safe enviroment where children are welcome, there is also a 10 table resturant being put in by the spring the seating has been ripped out and renewed.katy has pulled out all the stop's with this little pub and her attention to detail is awsome but hey what can i say it's been her local for over 15 year's, so if you are looking for good accom and good beer with friendly staff and local's pop inn have a look.
well done kt keep up the good work. AA
