Bar ignored my disability. Old pub. Don’t go

Chris, Mike & Vikki are very welcoming and have done a great job getting the white hart back on track. The beer tastes better than ever, the atmosphere in the pub is so nice and the food is freshly cooked and tastes amazing! well worth a visit/revisit!

Popped in for Sunday lunch, it was a little quiet, but the staff were all very friendly, welcoming and attentive. Good selection of ales, I had the local Hogs Back Brewery Tea which was very good. They were serving a full roast, but we spotted on the specials board a partridge, mushroom and bacon pie which sounded interesting, and it turned out to be fantastic. More meat than I've seen in a pie in any restaurant in ages, very tasty, perfectly cooked veg, and really nice crispy roast spuds. Well worth a visit and highly recommended.

New owners have gone in and so far the place looks good. Keeping the real ale going in the pub and re-introducing food 12-3 and 5-9 with roast dinners 12-4 on a Sunday. Good luck to Chris, Vikki and Mike - hope you can bring the customers back to the pub and get it back to the heart of the village it once was.

A little disappointed with it really... the ale ( St Austell Tribute) was okay and the pub had numerous rooms in the style f one of those 30's M & B houses. Was just a little perturbed by the ale choice - Hop Back Summer Lightning, Banks Mild, Youngs Bitter and St A Tribute would not be my choice of ales. Still better than other establishments in the environs.

Tried this place out after a friend of mine recently moved to Tongham, what a great pub, good selection of well kept beer, friendly staff and excellent cheap food. This is how a pub should be.

Visited on Saturday after a trip to Hog's Back. A board listing potentially 10 ales and cider, had the Cornish Coaster as wanted to ease back a little. Interesting pub with a central bar and different areas all the way around catering for all tastes. Decent.

This is a fantastic pub and is well worth a visit if you're ever passing by. It's not far at all off the A31 and is on the main drag through Tongham so it's easy to spot. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the range of Real Ales on offer is great. At any one time there are at least 4 or 5 on offer and they change every time I go in there. This is my local pub, but it's by no means the closest to my house. I'm just willing to walk that little bit further to get to this one. Looking forward to the beer festival in September. I've postponed my holiday just so that I can attend.

Hard to beat really. A mini beer festival, a good band and a decent pizza. Even without the beer festival the choice of ales is always interesting. Easily accessed by catching the Aldershot/Guildford No 20 bus and then a short walk into Tongham village centre.

Great pub, friendly and efficient service, a wide selection of real ales all kept to perfection. Promotes live music on a regular basis which is a bonus. Best pub around.
|
Beer Festival this coming weekend - Friday 13th - Sunday 15th February. Live music all three days as well - can't wait!!

Now even more pumps for real ale and a new cooling system has been installed means that means there is now an even better choice and the beer is even better than before!!
|
Excellent service, well kept beers and it promotes live music....beer festival weekend was superb.
|
Outstanding Beer festival this last weekend. All the beers that I tasted, not all that were available as could not drink that much :), were excellant. A big thank you to Ali & Kevin for making this pub into what a pub should be.
|
The Beer Festival was Excellent!!! Thank you Kev and Ali - Beers were fantastic, food was excellent and the bands throughout the weekend were great. Well Done all!!

I went to The White Hart yesterday for my first time (and it won't be last!) for their first Beer Festival and to see excellent local band, Six Miles Away - both were on top form.
What a great pub - excellently run by Ali and Kev with top quality ales and three rooms around a central bar which mean you can find just the right place for you.
|
English pub as it should be. friendly staff & customers. The real ale is alwys excellantly kept. Usually four on at a time. Changes regularly. Looking forward to the First Beer Festival this weekend. Have seen 20 diiffernt ales ready for sampling.
|
It has also just been entered into the Good Beer Guide 2009!!! Well Done to the Landlord and Landlady!!
|
Incidently, the pub has just recieved its Cask Marque, and will be hosting a beer festival 12th-14th September.
|
What a village pub should be!. Friendly and welcoming which is thanks to the new owners.

I think I finished off the Porter! Much improved...in attitude as much as anything.....very pleasant local especially supportive of bikers..actually welcoming in general...relaxed attitude to food but very conscientious regarding beer. BQ 8.5

I can only echo the previous comments. I met Allison and her partner at Hogs Back Brewery last night and they are very positive. A short visit to the pub afterwards was also very positive. Good range of ales - the Pilgrim Porter had just finished but a new barrel was back on the bar in a very short time. Altogether a very nice pub. Oh also for those interested it still shows evidence of it's previous ownership - a Hodgsons Kingston Brewery (bought by Courage around 1945) plate in the car park. Keep up the good work!
|
Quite correct - vastly improved. Evening are very pleasant in there.

Visited this pub on Saturday 2nd Feb after our brewery trip to Hogsback. Good range of ale on the bar, told that it use to be a rough pub but now vastly improved under new owners. Pleasant atmosphere lunchtime but can't comment on evening trade.
|
The new landlord and landlady have done wonders with this place - real ale is fantastic, and the range of it, as is the welcome you'll receive. Food is great, and very decently priced. Definately worth visiting for the first time, and returning too after that!!!!

Since moving to the area, this pub has gone under new management. The current owners are very friendly and the locals welcoming. Pub grub is available 7 days a week 12-3 and 6-9 and is cooked in a 4 star kitchen (from the local council inspectors). There are 7 hand pumps with usualy at least 4 real ales and a scrumpy on regularly. A pool table and dart board are available as well as a decent out door area with heat lamps and gazebo for slightly chillier evenings!
|
New landlord/lady have recently been installed and appear to be reviving the pub! More real ale choice, which is very well kept. Apparently, it has been painted recently and is looking good!
