Joiners Arms, Lincolnback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Definitely not a closed pub. Was in here last night enjoying a pint of Burton Bridge Damson Porter, and very nice is was too. I believe it has recently got a new landlord. There were five well kept real ales. A friendly pub with a warm welcome from the landlord and locals. Well worth a visit.

This cracking little back street pub is well and truly open and not closed as stated!
John the landlord has run it now for over two years. He has 5 hand pumps on the bar serving real ale from far and wide as well as offerings from local breweries as well. Defiantly worth a visit if you're visiting Lincoln and looking for an "old fashioned" freehouse pub that has a unique atmosphere.

Definitely not closed. Popped in on Friday (07/12/12) whilst on a pub crawl round Lincoln. Its not on the local Camra guide, but should be. There were five beers on from national and regional brewers. I had the Greene King 1799 stout which was excellent. Its just round the corner from the Burton Arms (check the Lincoln Camra website for the PDF leaflet)

I found this little gem of a pub during a day visit to Lincoln. The landlord, John, gave a warm welcome and was more than willing to let me taste the 4 ales that he had on tap - these included Hobgoblin, Snecklifter, Hophead & Banks'. The beers tasted well and were well-kept, to which I settled for Hobgoblin.
I didn't find this pub to be 'clicky' and felt that I didn't have to drink up and leave as the landlord & locals were quite chatty and friendly.
The Joiners has recently opened and are planning evening entertainment including quiz & open-mic nights.
If you're visiting the real ale pubs of Lincoln, add this one to your list, or if you don't fancy the full slog of Motherby Hill or Steep Hill in one go, the Joiners is a 5 min diversion (plus drinking time!)

Only go to this pub if you want a warm welcome, good beer and friendly locals. This pub is under new management, Jo, Terry and their barstaff give you a friendly welcome. It is a good family pub that has a fantastic quiz night and are even running a charity race night this Saturday (31st July) for a very good cause.
They are always coming up with new promotions to give the customers a little added extra for their money, the day of the world cup final they held an excellent BBQ. Keep your eyes open for future promotions they are always worth a visit, advertised inside the pub on the notice board.
What else can I say........... don't listen to any negative comments, go yourself and give the pub a chance - you WONT be disappointed.

I must echo the comments of Roger69. I have regularly visited the Joiners Arms for severalyears, and have seen a number of licencees come and go. The present economic climate, I would suggest, was partly to blame for Alec and Gill having to leave the pub, but when is all said and done, they did keep a good pint of ale. Terry and Jo have re-opened the Joiners, and all I can say is 'hats off to them'. The trade at the moment is suffering generally, and non constructive critisism by someone who thinks they know all about beers, is not helpful. O.K. You thought the beer was like vinigar, you have complained on this site, but you did not comment at the time, I am sure that the young lady behind the bar would have gladly changed it for you, if you asked. She is only young, and learning the trade, and has probably never encounterd this problem before. Unfortunately, when real ale get near to the end of the barrell, it is not always a good pint. I have always found the pub, the staff, and the customers of the Joiners to be cheerful, polite and good humoured. I agree, the premisis could do with a bit of a makeover, but such an investment would be foolhardy at this early stage. Promotion of pubs should be our main aim, not giving them bad press by negative comments, which could jepordise another 'local' pub.

Well, where shall I begin?....10 weeks ago, to the day in fact, my fiancee and I were forced to consider the prospect of me working away from home for the first time. Consequently here I am. Being my first time away from home (Runcorn, Cheshire) and being 41 years my primary concerns were how I would settle, and how the good people of the area would receive me. My fears were soon dispelled within days of my arrival when I discovered how pleasant the pubs of Lincoln are, in particular The Joiner's Arms. If you don't know The Joiner's Arms I suggest you visit with little trepidation and a warm heart. It is clean, homely, and welcoming and unlike many other pubs never pretends to be anything other than it is. I have happily walked 3 miles most days to visit The Joiner's Arms for nothing more than the good ale, friendly atmosphere and in Jo and Terry two of the nicest people I've met. All this makes the comments of the previous critic, personally, flabbergasting and I can only assume the lady has an agenda of some kind to be so vindictive following one visit and one unfortunately 'bad pint'. I was there that evening sat next to Chris, who had been drinking the said 'problem' ale and I actually tasted it myself. And while I'm not a real ale drinker it was by no means the 'vinegar' our disgruntled reviewer professes. And to storm out leaving the innocent barmaid a little shaken was, in my opinion, less than dignified. I shall finish (FINALLY) with a simple message...The Joiner's Arms may not be the greatest pub in Lincoln, but you will do well to find a nicer one. Come along and see for yourself.

This has been reopened - according to the local newspaper by a lady who runs a cleaning company. I think she should stick to that! Only 2 punters in mid-evening. We were served a pint of beer - didn't recognise the name to remember it. Ate the bag of nuts and returned the pint of vinegar back to the bar. No apology given. Person sat at the bar said his was all right and barrel must need changing but bar girl did not offer to change ours so we left. No sign of the landlady. Pool table occupies most of the pub and darts board (although removed from the wall) was in line with the end of the pool table! Outside area (yard) accessed by going through a door marked as toilets. This pub will not survive if it carries on like this. You would expect a new landlady to have made radical changes but looks like something out of the ark. Think she must have just wanted her local to stay open but it won't for long luv, believe me. Don't give up the day job! Just think about it - it closed down because it was the same as it is now!

Quite a strange shaped little locals pub, just off the beaten track, yet only a couple of hundred yards from the main street. Pool table, dartboard and TV in the lounge area as you enter. They actually have a Manchester dartboard in here, but it�s also apparently a Lincoln board as well. Up a few steps to the bar area on the right. 3 handpumps on the bar but only one was on selling Adnams Old Ale. According to the landlord they had had a good week and they�d sold out before the barrels in the cellar had settled. Had a pint of the Adnams which was very good. Very friendly landlord and landlady, it�s a proper local.

Split level pub with a small bar area and limited seating. The lower lounge, which houses the pool table has more and sports an attractive fireplace, although, unfortunately containing a gas fire. Welcome middle of the road music was playing over the sound system and two good quality guest real ales were on sale.
