WHAT A DUMP!! I had to meet someone here last week and was shocked that the health people allow it to remain open. The gents hand dryer is out of order with a notice stuck to it 'Danger do not use' what is that all about! One of the toilets is also 'Out of order' as for the Ladies well no light and pitch black and wait for it to flush the toilet you use a 'WOODEN SPOON' do they have to collect the spoon to cook with? As for the beer only one bitter on and that tasted as though it had been watered down. Only four of us in the place at 8pm on a Wednesday night you can see why. We all know that times are hard for pubs but if we don't bother to make an effort there won't be any left. I can see this place going the same way as the Junction Inn. If you don't believe this review please go and have a look.

The Kings Head has fallen so far in the last four years its difficult to believe. Pre-smoking ban it was always a heaving, hot, well mixed drinking pub with a wide variety of live music. The current management seemed to have managed a Perfect Storm of a huge drop in numbers, being plain miserable and for some reason most of the decent bands dont go there anymore. I cant think of a reason to go there, unless you live round the corner. The beer used to be kept ok, but cant speak for it now. I fear for its future if nothing changes.

Jesus! Three out of three pubs Ive been in Burgess Hill are dyer! Another Local Pub that seems to cater exclusively for very unfriendly alcoholics. I could even feel my feet sticking to the carpet. The Landlord (If thats who he was) just looked at you like he was going to punch you just for being thereThank god Im not working in this town for long. My quest for a decent/friendly Local continues..No wonder there all closing

The beer is undrinkable, if you want a day off work spen a night here and try drinking the beer, you will not be able to work the next day.

Karaoke on a Tuesday, recommended. I've been to many a pub on a Tuesday and haven't seen one as busy as this. Welcoming locals and staff. On my first visit, Phil the Guv brought me a pint.

Although it's a little rough and ready I am very fond of the Kings Head, and it's late license means you don't have to rush away, especially if the band is good.
With observant and courteous bar staff and a pleasant atmosphere, it's a pub that's worth visiting in Burgess Hill, as long a you don't mind a bit of well intentioned loudness on a Friday or Saturday night.

The local council in the area have an agreement with regards to the number of public houses with a late license. Burgess Hill is lucky to be given 2 the Kings Head and The Junction. Both of these have live music Fridays and Saturdays with a license until midnight in both locations.
The Kings Head is the better of the two - more space to see the band (unless it is a popular band in which case standing room only).
While it is true that some of the music is suspect (e.g. Tar Babies play Beatles covers which is not my scene) it is one of the few places for a late drink and a 'possibilty' of a decent band. Staff and service is usually pretty prompt and they have quizes, pool and darts nights during the week (but no late license).
The landlord does have some problems with the locals in so much that the noise has to be kept down and a lot of bands conform to this. However there are a couple of rock bands that do not (e.g. Dropzone, Sonic Oblivion and No Way Out).
For the town - if you like live music (be it good, bad or unheard off) then this is the place to be.

Not a bad place! Has pool tables, big screen, Juke box, live music and a function room for hire. Has late licence too which is good. Try it.

Only band worth seeing is Dropzone here!! They play a couple of times a year and is always a great night. Late license makes it appealing the rest of the year although there is no entry after 23:00 I think...

Truely awful music on Fridays and Saturdays but good atmosphere and beer, as well as being open until midnight.

A well odd place on a Sat night. Has live music, usually of a laughable quality, and is a real community pub. It can sometimes be a freak show but it is open til midnight, you always get served, the atmosphere is always good, the beer is kept well and in 8 years I've seen trouble once. If you like a packed pub and plenty of variety (!) its probably the best place to go in Bugs Hole.
