After the chaos of the nearby Guild, it was refreshing to return to normality in the Hop Pole. This is a pub specialising in live music, which clearly has a strong, local following on any night. We opted to sit in the reasonably-sized garden in the rear. Ales were Worfield OBJ (O Be Joyful), Wells Bombardier Burning Gold, Robinsons Pint of Thrones, Sharps Doom Bar & Wye Valley HPA. My last pub of the weekend was also the first I'd visited to have more than a single real cider. 3 were in boxes on the bar - Westons Old Rosie & Aspalls Cyderkyn & Temple Moon. Both Aspalls ciders were good. Nice boozer.

A couple of visits over the last year. Handy for the Artrix, with an alley connecting the two. A pair of real ales, both well kept. Very friendly landlord.

Spent a very enjoyable jubilee bank holiday afternoon here with an excellent cider and music festival. Probably the best pub in Bromsgrove now with decent beer and a nice beer garden. The landlords doing a top job and the only criticism was that the in house beer the OBJ was a little bland.

Cracking little pub, great beer, and a lively enough live music venue at weekends. Can get mega crowded, but well worth a visit.
A proper local pub. Nice beer garden at the back, always a choice of beers on but Nailer's OBJ is a great Summer pint...or two. Well worth a visit: I have been dropping in for years when in Bromsgrove and always go. I am never disappointed! The beer is always in good condition.

This is a most excellent pub. Friendly staff, good beer and food.
Music nights are wonderful and you can just see that everyone is really enjoying themselves.
Now Bromsgroves only GBG entry! Still busy on music nights but the beer is more consistent.
Good pub, friendly staff, real ale. Probably one of the best pubs in Bromsgrove.
Friendliest pub in Bromsgrove without a doubt, great ale too!! 8/10 yum yum
Superb best live bands in midlands and best bar staff. great beer cool beer garden and very friendly locals.
It gets packed on weekend evenings where getting served can be a hassle. Regulars tend to hog the bar leaving little room. Sign language is useful as the bands play on the end of the bar!!
Plesant pub just off the high street; good real ale range, but worryingly quiet on Sat lunchtime.
Good real ale available. Lunch time menu good and reasonable prices, but were running out of some food items on menu. Friendly pub, worthy of visit if a real ale fan.
Refurbished in 2003 to a good standard, but this is still a very small pub. Live music every night except for Mondays and Tuesdays. Beer is well kept and real ales are always available, but other drinks (especially the draught-only wine) are not as impressive.
