We have been a couple of times now firstly for lunch where we had a lovely fish cake followed by a rump steak cooked just right and only for just under a tenner. We then went back for thier sunday lunch. Our plates were full of meat vegetables and a super gravey. The service was good and not too intrusive we really had a good time and will be using it again.

A lovely pub, did a pub crawl around the area on a Saturday night with friends - this was the best of the evening. Good size car park, garden area at the front (looked safe for keeping any kids amuzed and safe). Clean and with a real pub atmosphere inside, quick, pleasant and efficient service, comfy areas to sit. We weren't eating, but the smells we picked up got our gastric juices going! This pub lives up to it's name - wish it was in our village or closer to our home, because we would frequent it and return for a meal. Go - enjoy!

Well I have past by a few time but have found the Pub closed, but I hear a new publican is coming, so I will await his arrival, till I have a handle on his performance running a country pub, rather than a restaurant venue.

Its good but not as gushing as 'nigelbradford' paints, I've had good nights there, but the landlord is flakey his up and down all over the place, still roll on the Beer Festival, now thats a very good weekend............

We travelled from Spain upon a recommendation, and we weren't disappointed. I suspect that some of the negative blogs on here come from one or two locals who took a dislike to the landlord. As hoteliers ourselves there has never been a truer adage than the one about "pleasing all of the people all of the time" - eventually the smile can become somewhat tight with some customers (you know, the ones who are always right!) With pubs closing by the day it might be better if they were to support their local at all costs. As a previous blogger has said, there are other, but much pricier pubs nearby. We have no complaints about the plentiful food, the well kept beer, the friendly staff - a total English pub experience - well done. We shall be back next time in England.

We visited the Home Sweety Home and had a great time we had 3 generations of our famioly there, the food was quick well prepared and tasty and was great value for money, the place had a great atmosphere, one critism would be that service was a little slow but it made no difference to the meal.. keep it up mr landlord...
|
Wow! Who could have imagined the difference 6 months could make. The food here is now surely the best in the region. Whilst other local pubs falter this one continues to thrive..dare we think of 'tyre' type awards? I'm so glad it's my local

This is one of my favourites of all.Try it, I'm confident you'll like it.

Okay, the handover is complete. The beer/music fest last weekend was brill (22 guest ales!!) Siggy has two full-time chefs turnng out locally sourced meals. Be aware that the food is cooked to order- so be prepared to wait....if you want something to do whilst your appetite grows-criticise his smelling pistakes on the menou broad!!! (BTW, the phone is back on line)

The new landlord is making a real effort, a beer festival on for the August bank holiday, he has brought in an award winning chef (meals and service have improved no-end). He tries to use all local produce and trade is building. As I type he is battling to get his phone reconnected (last idiot refuses to pay the bill!) so he is using his mobile to run the business..07868689383..(sorry to sound like an advert but I would like him to do well)

There is another new Landlord! The previous one had given up interest in the place (trying to save his other gaff?) and whilst the staff tried their best they were receiving no support. The previous manager, Siggy (pronounced Ziggy) has taken it over and will use his worldwise expertise in the catering/hotel trade to turn things around. Give him time...

Went for dinner last Thursday week for the first time in 18 months. Very dissapointed, the food was of average quality but there just appeared to be no atmosphere. such a shame.
|
The 'new' owner took over last April and is trying to build up a trade for food, which is what the layout is best suited to. Beer-wise, there is always 6X and Henry's + one other on pull. Stowford Press, Amstel, Stella,Fosters and Guinness make up the kegs. There is a fine selection of wines, and 'top-shelves'.We have eaten there 6 times and the food/service has ranged from poor to very good. Perhaps time will tell! I will report back

Just recently sold to Wadworths I believe. Not sure if it will still stock the superb Loddon brews. Needs a re-visit to confirm its still worthy!

Beer festival was well organised, shame about the weather.

Went for lunch, the lady behind the bar was very offhand. Did not feel welcome at all. won't be back.

Went in again last week for a couple of beers and a nice dinner - its still a great find. Loddon's Hullabaloo was in good condition, the place was surprisingly busy till quite late, and the food was good, at a reasonable price. The big log fires were buring and service was warm and frienly too.
Beer festival this year is 27-29 May, when I'll certainly be visting on my bike....

Lovely pub in a beautiful setting. The food is very good and it is a good place to go for special occasions. New Year's eve was excellent

Lovely setting, excellent beers - including Loddon Brews. The recent beer festival (May05) had excellent range of beers and good BBQ.

Lovely ole worlde pub with open fire and low beams. We had a function there recently and the food was excellent, the beer was in good condition and the service was exceptional
