Has now been taken over by Sir Tim Wetherspoon! Reportedly spent 2.5 million quid renovating it. Now looks fantastic, much enlarged, but sadly the clientele is still much as described in previous posts - totally chav central! Went there last night to check it out, and will not be returning in a hurry.

Sadly, gone for good.

The Navi lives on. The co-op have pulled out and it has to remain as a pub. The trouble with this pub is that it has been badly "managed" for years and has become very run down and has acquired a reputation for trouble , this again being due to bad management and lack of staff control. The pub itself is a lovely building but In all of my 30 years drinking I have never seen a building become so dilapidated. There are buckets everywhere collecting rain coming through the roof, part of the ceiling has collaped, paper and plaster coming of the walls and the toilet plumbing is beyond belief! This pub desperately needs a change of owner, new management and new staff. This could be a great pub - it deserves better.

Now bought by co-op. Normally this would be a sad thing but at least now people will be able to buy real ale in good condition at the navii admittedly only in bottles and cans. Wonder where the chavs will move on to??

Must agree with FloridaM.
I visited after after Farmers Market in April and sticky/chavvy describes it very well.
When did the British people get so gross? The place was full of rude drunks and the tables, menus and chairs looked like they were covered with grease and food debris.
I loved this pub when I was a kid - the interior was fantastic. Now its just a drinking hole.

Cloudy, off, Davenports last week. Went straight onto bottled beer to save my health. Dirty pub. Beginning to get a reputation for trouble on a Friday night. A chavs dream location!!

Just ate here with a few friends, all 3 of them had steak. due to the good 2.99 deal. Steak looked good and came with the usual trimmings, not bad. Only problem there was one steak knife left, 1 between 3, joke. And if thats not bad enough, the barmaid explained that due to people eating outside this time of year they are stealing the knives, what a good advertisement for the pub! Full of knife stealing customers....
On a brighter note pint of Davenports was very nice

This is the sort of pub that feels sticky - atmospherically, on the seats, on the tables... it's kind of local but I went in for one after the Kings Norton mop and it took about 20 minutes to get served despite it not being too busy and there being a few bar staff on. Can't be arsed to go back

This pub should be under new management as the current manager seems to have lost all interset in the place. The Wednesday quiz used to be the quiz to go to but now like everything else in the pub, there does not seem to be much interest.(still get the core of the regular teams though) On the up side the trouble seems to have gone away along with all the regular customers. It is a pity because under the right managemant, it could still be the place to drink.

This is a rough pub, with staff who need training in customer service skills. The language behind the bar made me blush. Nevertheless, if you can get some food out of them, its great, and good value. Don't take the family there, and don't go for a chat with your mates, the music is unbearably loud.

I work in Kings Norton and have been going in this pub since Jan 06- so a while after previous review. Super probably is 12 so can only drink on Park benches. Or is just an alcoholic. This pub as a good atmosphere all round with good beer, wadsworth 6x and good value pub grub. Nice place for Family during day and nice mix of friendly people. On the night there never seems to be trouble, always new people and regulars so not too wild wild west. When footy is on there is a good atmosphere even to watch the scores wind in on Sky Sports News on a Saturday. Go there and you wont be disapointed.

Rubbish, i'd rather have a drink on a park bench than go to navi
