Has now been taken over by Sir Tim Wetherspoon! Reportedly spent 2.5 million quid renovating it. Now looks fantastic, much enlarged, but sadly the clientele is still much as described in previous posts - totally chav central! Went there last night to check it out, and will not be returning in a hurry. scoobybooze2 - 30 Jan 2022 13:25 |
Sadly, gone for good. tradervic - 1 May 2020 17:59 |
The Navi lives on. The co-op have pulled out and it has to remain as a pub. The trouble with this pub is that it has been badly "managed" for years and has become very run down and has acquired a reputation for trouble , this again being due to bad management and lack of staff control. The pub itself is a lovely building but In all of my 30 years drinking I have never seen a building become so dilapidated. There are buckets everywhere collecting rain coming through the roof, part of the ceiling has collaped, paper and plaster coming of the walls and the toilet plumbing is beyond belief! This pub desperately needs a change of owner, new management and new staff. This could be a great pub - it deserves better. tankard - 18 Jan 2013 23:34 |
Now bought by co-op. Normally this would be a sad thing but at least now people will be able to buy real ale in good condition at the navii admittedly only in bottles and cans. Wonder where the chavs will move on to?? FloridaM - 24 Sep 2011 14:48 |
Must agree with FloridaM. I visited after after Farmers Market in April and sticky/chavvy describes it very well. When did the British people get so gross? The place was full of rude drunks and the tables, menus and chairs looked like they were covered with grease and food debris. I loved this pub when I was a kid - the interior was fantastic. Now its just a drinking hole. Tancred - 29 Dec 2010 12:14 |
