Interesting shaped boozer which is accessed via stairs above a theatre. It has a well-worn vaguely 1970's attempt at Victoriana vibe but much loved interior with wooden bar sections and other features. I must say I really enjoyed it and they had a couple of decent ales on to boot. Do have a look at this unusual but satisfying watering hole.

An odd but fun pub. Not a brilliant beer selection and poor toilets, but that was made up for by the friendly staff and brilliant karaoke! Can be a bit intimidating as you can't see it before going up the stairs but well worth a try.

The pub from the outside is nothing to look at, but ya should never judge a book by its cover. I have been drinking here for the last 6 months, and the stairs are annyoing once you have had one to many but the pub itself and the team of all barmaids and manageress are all up for a good laugh, and serve good johns smiths lol,,there seem to be alot going on there lately as they have currently got a karoke competion going for 500, quiz nights, themed nights, bands, and they even do pizza..... And from what i have heard there is a new late license coming in were the pub is open till 4am on fridays and saturdays with late night discos and bands.. just like to say well done girls behind the bar c ya friday..

The Vic is the mutt's nuts! If you want a drink in the Stow without trouble then this is the place to be. Yeah the regs are loud Irish blokes but they're sound fellas. Cheap drinks, a pool table you can get a game on without waiting ages, decent jukebox and a roof terrace, what more could you want?
|
A real dive with a menacing clientele. The only good point is the exceptionally well run quiz on Sunday evenings
|
A very friendly place. Recommended.
|
Every time I get dragged in here 75% of the clientele seems to be Irish blokes shouting at each other. This wouldnt be a problem if I could get a decent ale but there never seems to be any on.
The stairs arent exactly a selling point either.

what a SHITHOLE

This in my experience has always been one of the friendliest pubs in walthamstow. in the 8 years of living in the area it seems to be the one that draws me back every time. the staff are welcoming, atmosphere fun and the customers seem to have a great repore with each other. they have great theme nights that are always well attended. the history of this listed building is emense. the decor may notbe brilliant but it serves a might fine pint of Guinness. well worth a visit.

the victoria is Ok, haven't been for a while, the stairs are a bit dodgy if youve had one too many
|
Under new and welcoming management which seems to be making a real effort. Sunday roasts, quiz nights, karaoke, occasional live music - and Greene King IPA on handpump! Drop in & give it a try.
|
Notice outside says Real Ale is back. I shall research this & report back here, as it's a good no-nonsense bar with character and a friendly atmosphere.
|
This stunning old building is listed. Burp.
|
I only go in here occasionally but have always found the bar staff friendly and helpful. The atmosphere's always good and certainly better than the majority of other local alternatives.

this pub is the nuts. its jus a shame the persons that posted the last review an the 1 underneath are so shallow. didnt know that kareoke was sung by proffesional singers. an we are doin our best to get rid of the drunk outside, its a pity that people keep encouraging him. the staff are friendly an helpfull to customers. please feel free to pop in on a friday evening an have a look yourself. thank you
|
What a dive bar. Only people who go there seem to be p*&*sed from other pubs on a friday night, get up on stage & sing kareoke in thier worse voices ever. Also the staff appear very rude. If it's your first visit to the pub you will discover you get served last & the regulars get served first. I don't rate it all that.

This is my regular in Walthamstow. My rendition of the theme tune from Minder always goes down a treat in here.
|
i love this pub. its the nuts. wanna say a big thank u to all our customers. its u that make it what it is. an if u aint visited, then all can ask is that u give it a go.

I've been drinking in the Victoria for three years now and it's a friendly place with some great nights. Fridays for karaoke, always worth a visit and the sunday quiz is great (and free to enter.)There are occasional party nights, like at Hallowe'en - the next one is the Elvis/Rock and Roll night on friday the 24th November.
The pub is really picking up lately and if you call in and ask for Jeremy and I'm there I'll buy you a pint for stopping in!

A thoroughly enjoyable evening, although the barman couldn't keep his eyes off my tits, the dirty focker!

iv been drinking here for approx 5 years, durin this time there have been 3 or 4 landlords. its a very friendly pub. children are welcomed durin the day. i often take my 4 young daughters in 4 a game of pool. i recently started workin there as a barman. i enjoy bein both sides of the bar. hope that u manage to find us an pop in for a beer an to see for yourself how friendly the victoria is.

Have often walked past this pub because it looks a bit odd from the outside. The entrance is on ground level and the actual pub is on the first floor. Tried it our the other day and was surprised by friendly bar staff and interesting poster memorabilia on the walls. Beer selection was pretty average and the pub was a little too well lit for my liking, which doesn't do it any favours as it's a little run down. Not a bad place to stop though if you're looking for a drink or two somewhere near Walthamstow tube or market.
