This is your stereotypical Kilburn Irish boozer, it ticks every box. The punters are mainly a friendly bunch, standing round the bar and waxing lyrically about what you would expect older working class men to talk about. There's a nice atmosphere to Coopers, doesn't feel like you're on the High Road at all.
Certainly the place I make a beeline for when in Kilburn.

On a recent tour of the High Rd this was the only Pub I felt anyway comfortable in. As already mentioned here it is an honest, no frills Irish local. Friendly locals and Bar staff. My Girlfriend overheard some locals comment on how shocking it was that I left her on her own whilst I went to the toilet, which is quite quaint really!!

This is a great, friendly pub, in the heart of Kilburn. A spacious beer garden and good prices. What else can you ask for? Looking forward to St Patricks day as it is always a good craic there!

A good honest pub selling good honest beer. No more, no less.

Recently had a mini-crawl up the High rd for old times sake and this was the only pub in which it was a pleasure to drink. As remembered, always busy with friendly staff and locals.

Although there is nothing really remarkable about this small Irish bar I was glad to find it after a disappointing crawl of Kilburn High Road. Unsurprisingly there is no ale, but I was served a decent pint of Guinness by the polite governor.
I spotted three plasma screens for showing the Sky Sports and also a dartboard which was entertaining a boisterous game.
I wouldnt go out of my way to drink here again, but it is ok for a couple of swift pints if passing.

For an Irish pub, the Coopers has a bit a more of a subdued influence as some of its neighbours and certainly does not come across as contrived as the usual Irish Pub by numbers found elsewhere. The single carpeted room has a central bar and still retains an element of its traditional style with latticed partly coloured glass windows and panelled walls. The front of the bar has high backed seats which look freshly upholstered and from the polished and scratch free tables, I would guess that the place has been recently refurbished albeit there is still an element of scruffiness about it. 3 TVs show mainly sport (cricket and horse racing were both being shown simultaneously when I was there). The traditional Bass brewery mirror is accompanied by ubiquitous Guiness posters although the Irishness is generally underplayed on the dcor front. Thick Irish accents may abound amongst the customer base and I got the impression that everyone knows everyone but I felt more at ease here as a stranger than in some of the other local pubs. Not much of a surprise that there were no Real Ales, just the standard kegs, lagers and of course, Guinness, although the presence of a redundant hand pump suggests this was not always the case. There is a dartboard round the far end of the bar and a beer garden beyond although I didnt venture this far. In short, the Coopers provides a no thrills approach but a friendly enough welcome for the unfussy drinker although it would be far from my first port of call when next in Kilburn.

Smashing pub. Really welcoming and good prices.
The beer garden has plenty of space and is well taken care of. Clean and tidy .

Worst Pub on the Kilburn High Rd.
Walk on in, heads turn and they are some pretty shabby heads too. Dirty pub and unfriendly staff. The kind of pub where only locals are made to feel welcome. Give it a miss.
|
good craic. guinness ok. but if you walk in on your own you do get looked at for a bit but not intimidated. helps to have a pint or 2 elswhere first.
4/10

What is this pub like?
My family went into this pub years ago and I would like to go in there and see if there are any old faces. But I am worried I might get called a plastic paddy or get intimidated by the regulars.

cannot get a seat to sit down on when having your nice cool beer (ha-ha) only joking, plenty of room even when the big matches are on,that says plenty, beer fair to middling.

A surprisingly ok pub when I was in there one St Patrick's Day. Not that I've ever been back. Much better than it looks from the outside.
