Nice pub, good for a lunchtime drink. Completely unpretentious unlike the whole of Ditchling just down the road. Often pop in but never stayed to see a night out, probably rather pleasant. Make a good local.

Lovely village pub,food excellent.
Super service wine went down well.
Must visit if in hassocks area.

My first visit to this pub and I wish I'd tried it before. A proper village pub, friendly, comfortable and welcoming.
Only had 2 ales on, Harveys and Ruddles County and I tried both and both were very well kept. I am told the Whistling Duck shiraz was good too.
There is an extensive menu of reasonably priced, freshly prepared food. Nothing too flash but good value and very tasty.
The staff were all friendly and helpful too.
There's a decent sized car park, a garden and restaurant and bar areas. Dogs are welcome in the bar area.

Very nice friendly village pub, good range of beers including Harveys and they do an excellent pint of draught Guinness. Good food, reasonable menu, often supplemented by some good specials on the board and scrumptious range of desserts in the chiller cabinet. One warning however, if your meal comes with gravy it will be pre-applied and your food will be sitting in an ocean of the stuff, thick and dark. My suggestion: please supply a gravy boat and let us apply to our taste!

After another return visit, the Greyhound remains one of our favourite pub eateries.

Always tastes freshly cooked and the have Harveys.

Never left there disappointed.

Hassan is always welcoming.

A welcoming pub, once you have successfully negotiated the narrow gap through to the back carpark. Hassan the proprietor really looks after you.

Go there a few times a year and always first rate.
Food is always good but maybe the menu could be updated a bit.

Really friendly pub. Went in there on a sunday, arrived just after they normally stop serving food but were very helpful and willing to still accommodate us. The atmosphere felt really comfortable and it seems to be an an excellent village pub. The only (and I mean only) minor disappointment is that on the occasions we've been in there all the ales are just the usual big names (Harveys, Pride, Bombardier etc.) Although excellently kept

We visited for a family birthday meal and found this pub to be an excellent eating establishment! The food was tasty, well cooked and plentiful and arrived promptly after ordering. The chef greeted us personally, as he did a few months back on another visit.
If we had to criticise anything it would be the wait at the bar, with drinks (eventually) served by an unsmiling bartender. But otherwise, a big thumbs up from us!

Best pub in Hassocks, by some margin. Friendly, excellent choice and quality of beer and no nonsense menu. Enjoyed playing bar billiards in here, though losing to a pair of 11 year olds was chastening!

Excellent pub, neatly tucked away, friendly landlord, 4 real ales available always in good condition. Food excellent. The monthly open mike night is great, what a friendly and warm atmosphere, a place to go and enjoy yourself

This is a really nice pub and the sort of place I would like to visit more often. The beer is good, the food could be better, and the atmosphere is nice even when it is quiet.
However, on my recent visit the service was very slow even though there were not many people in the pub. An experienced person would improve things behind the bar.

Rather dull.

Has improved since my visit last year. Four reals ales available. The Gale's (Fuller's) HSB and the Harvey's Best were very good.

The beer range has been much reduced, however the pint of Harvey's I had was in good condition. Wouldn't go out of my way to visit this pub, but as long as it's on the CAMRA Ale trail, I will probably visit it once a year!

called in recently, gone completly downhill since seamus left , food still good tho. got rid of the ridiculus manager , and has been replaced by the owner, who is now running the bar.hopfully the ale will get better. if you like your lager over 3 a pint this the pub for you.

Smart looking bar inside a very old building opposite the village church. Had a superb pint of Gale's Bitter. Harvey's and two other bitters were also on handpump. A fairly large, grassy beer garden out the back was very pleasant to sit on a warm early Autumn afternoon.
