This pub doesn't sell real ale but someone told me the beer is better than the globe!!!!!!

Well worth steering clear of!

Customers are mainly low life scum, but the staff are very nice.

This was o.k.when it was the market tavern, but you get all the dreggs of glossop in now.the beer is crap.you only get what you pay for.I never go in any more,I dont like the people.I dont like the pub either, there is always trouble there in one form or another.

The selection of real ales is excellent, in tip top condition and very reasonably priced too. The fod looks good too, will try the menu and report back.

A choice of six Cains ales - all in tip-top condition and reasonable prices for the area. A comfortable pub and a friendly welcome. Highly recommended.

This is now a Cains tied house re-branded as the Market Tavern. Good beers and very reasonable prices. Food menu looks good but I haven't had any.

This is now "The Market Tavern" and was reopened just before christmas having had a nice looking refurb. Now owned by Cains brewery of Liverpool and serving their beers. It's actually nice to go in and has good real ale now so I'll be making more visits there.

Probably the "Last Resort" is a more accurate description than Last Orders. Formerly a Chesters pub up to the seventies, then "The Trap" until the turn of the century, then continued downhill and still going down.Final Last Orders predicted soon, maybe to be bought by a regionalbrewery (local rumour)????

Fantastic range of beers in a discreet atmosphere and very cheap, the food aint bad either, its a mix between a drinkers pub and an occasional drinkers pub but you dont seem to feel alien on your first visit, one downside, the place is a lttle bit too small and not much entertainment other than the numerous tv screens..
