Just a shadow of its former self I'm afraid. Used to be authentic canal side pub, but now seems to have been changed beyond all recognition (not for the better). Beer is still good, food a bit fancy if not a little overpriced, but lacks the warmth and authenticity it had a few years back. Needs to get back to its roots.

Stopped off at lunchtime from our narrowboat cruise. Situated right by the Cape Locks. Enjoyed our real ale sitting by the canal. Didn't eat here so can't comment on the food, but this is, as earlier postings say, a good old-fashioned pub.

Good basic boozer, with good ales plus nice food, but as mentioned, beware that mixed grill!
Had lunch in here on Friday and, yes it is a little pricey but well worth it. I had the "Cape Fear" mixed grill, over 16 but well worth it, don't try it unless you are, like me a greedy pig, there was loads of dead animals all over the plate, lovely! As for the pub, the beer was excellent and a good choice too, well worth a visit for food and/or beer.

This place is impossible to find, but worth it when you do, a real old school proper pub right next to the canal.
An excellent little pub with a choice of six real ales, the three of which I sampled all being in superb condition. There is also a good choice of food, although it does seem a little expensive. The staff are efficient and friendly and the setting quiet and relaxing by the canal.

A proper pub. Ten out of ten, no question!

Superb evening in early October, moored right outside with a loaded pair. Had a few pints of the two locks also bought some of the cheese they sell. If you like strong Chedder this is the place to get it. Really good atmosphere and a real gem to look out for. Cannot comment on the food as we did not eat.

Good pints of Keystone Hops and Double Locks, brewed for the pub. Refreshingly eclectic jukebox as well for those so inclined.
Lovely pub , right on the canal. Had Sunday lunch here the food was very good and not too pricy! 6 real ales on ( one out of the barrel ) all good condition. A lot of new building going on locally so might change in the near future.

Not terrific atmosphere inside but friendly enough staff, great two locks bitter and good food! Wonderful to take a bike ride up on the cut and have a couple of pints outside when the weather allows .
Its not loud. Its not a spotless newly furbed chain pub. Its not a pub for posh nosh...or dressing up. But it is great. Great beer, friendly staff, good value decent food. Often a good mix of locals, walkers, and those from canal boats. If you'd like to try the best down to earth pub in these parts, this is it.

Lovely outside with my book and a couple of pints of Two Llocks. The situation my the canel you wouldn't know it was a built up area.
Just had a lovely meal. Recommend the chilli. Lovely pub. 8/10

Simply the best juicer in Warwick. A relaxed atmosphere with great beers (Twolocks for one) and good ole fashioned pub grub at reasonable prices.
Agree with recent comments below - especially about the Two Llocks and scratchings. Good gammon (decent size as well), egg and chips.
Top boozer.
This is now easily the best pub in Warwick, a must visit each time we travel to Warwick, although its a fair slog from town. Right on the canal with a lovely seating area outside, the beer is always great and the food hearty and filling. I thoroughly recommend this to anyone.

Great pub. Good selection of real ales. You can bring your dog in. If you're lucky you can tie your boat up right outside.
I don't drink ale as a rule but I had to make an exception for the Two Llocks, it is fantastic (especially if combined with a bag of pork scratchings).
If you can find it, a great place, and just gorgeous in the summer. Mainly full of people from IBM at lunchtimes, but thats easy to get over. Good handpulled beers and friendly staff. Parking an issue
Really really good pub if you want to see a new and interesting REAL ale on the taps virtually every time you go there.
The pub right next to a couple of locks (on the canal) and it is a really nice place to sit outside in the summer.
A MUST try is a beer called "Ywo Locks" which is made especially for this pub by a local brewer in Warwick, it is top draw!!
This is a good pub but I'm not sure that it is a brilliant one. It serves a range of 6 or so beers including 2 or 3 unusual ones and it is liked by local Camra members which suggests the condition is generally as good as it was when I was last there; it has a canal side location (albeit in a bit of a light-industrial quarter of Warwick); the food looks good (although I've not eaten there in a couple of years). The minor 'but' is about atmosphere. But because that is very subjective I strongly suggest you try it if in the Warwick area. (The competitor pub for beer in Warwick is the Fourpenny Shop which is also not completely brilliant in feel/decor to my taste. But both are well worth supporting.)

I have only been to this pub 3 times, but it has always had a mouthwatering selection of real ales. + likely to get something you haven't drunk before. Bit rough and ready, but friendly staff, and even saw the head chap from C..I..D.. out of the "Thin Blue Line" in there. Man of taste obviously! Hard to find, like all the best treasures.. 10/10 for beer.

Thanks to the Cape for a great night last Friday. Music was top and the audience did them proud. I now live in Hamburg and on the few chances I get chance of a night out in my home town I couldn't have asked for better. Thanks see you next time.
Excellent real ale pub, tucked away from the main road, right next to a canal lock a mile or so from the centre of Warwick
This fab little number is hidden down near the grand union canal in warwick, it is a brialliant place and offers some great real ales, and the food is so so good especially the fish dishes. Amazing little place. Oh also order the cape fear its the best mixed grill ever!!!!
