Not bad at all and the presence of 4 more than decent ales on tap was a winner alongside the very good food and a nice 'bar' feel - Horace's Odes in Oxford paperback was a surprise presence in the books section. The clientele is transient and the fact that it was far from busy on a saturday night and is in far from a destination area means that it is hard to imagine that the sums add up. Sadly, the suffix [CLOSED] may well appear next to its entry in the coming months.

Great range of real ales & fast efficient service. Shame the toilets were so disgusting & in need of repair. I wonder how clean tbe kitchen is?

Wannabe trendy bar adjacent to Lambeth North tube; attracts a fair few of the adjacent office types and possesses an unremarkable beer range (Pride and Landlord, 3.40). Mainly went in because of women in the office wanting to take advantage of cocktail happy hour, and was a little peeved when charged 20p for tap water (which somebody else wanted) which I subsequently found it is possibly against the law. Spectacularly average.

As Bars go this is definitely one of the better ones. Really more of a young persons type of place but the bottled lager which I drank tasted fine and I may visit again.

this used to be a real pub called the horse and groom, and i've had some good times in here when I was a local lad, I havn't been in since it's now called the horse, I'm probably a bit predudice or a bit nostalgic, but it looks a bit poncy to me

Love this place, can't understand negative reviews... maybe i'm pretentious, and i must admit, i do have a silly haircut. This place is different from most of the rubbish in the area, and the staff are great.

Awful place full of pretencious types with silly haircuts and bad clothes; definitely one to avoid unless you're there for a work function.

Held my birthday party here having noticed that they don't charge room hire. It was a massive success. Manager was very helpful, provided DJ equipment etc. Would def recommend it for parties. Really fantastic function room.

Came here years ago, was ok but nothing special. They've had change of ownership apparently, and it seems to have done the trick. really cool feel to the place. Great music, not too loud (it used to be). Staff really nice. Good real ale selection - had a nice pint of Tribute. The food's gone Thai, but it looks a step up from the usual Thai pub fare. Seems to be a really clean and well managed. Recommended.

What a cracking place this is. Amazing atmosphere and lets not forget about the hilarious name. They pour a terrific pint and there is always a friendly welcome and it is very conveniently located. It also has a hilarious name.

No horses but lots of mice to spot frolicking in the kitchen!
|
Now if i was looking to pull this is the place i'd come. ;)

wide selection of lagers, though when I asked for a smiths i got fosters, so perhaps double check when you order. strong cocktails, gooduns at that, relatively cheap for london. As the name suggests, its a bar, but if its a pub youre after, go to the crown and cushion just down the road on the right, can't miss it, its yellow.

on my fernds fiftieyth we came here atfer gong the hold-vic! we all satat the back and had a right lauge at the pople heir the dirnks where quiet bnice bert it were esxpsnive in this pub

Avoid the back of this pub unless you want to smell like a greasy spoon. Bland food and expensive drinks.
Ask for a itemised receipt, they over charge!
|
I was brought up round here when this was the horse and groom the red lion up the road is now called wallrus, what was the hercules opposite is now an indian restuerant, all the boozers down the Cut are all trendy wine bars,if you want a real pub go to the duke of sussex or the crown and cushion

Must say the food has dramatically improved since the change of menu a few months back. Great atmosphere.

Good selection of spirits and friendly staff
|
Nice pub, great food, staff sometimes a bit stand offish but good for cocktails
|
Not bad at all, slightly trendy standard pub, good food and doesnt seem to get too crowded
|
Went to a friends party here which meant they had use of the upstairs room. Was very nice, although when I was there the service was a bit slow but then it was very busy! Good atmosphere and easy to get to.

Well, this does seem like a good place to come if you are young. If you are on the pull maybe also good as well, not sure when the best time is for that however.. Maybe weekends or something? Not that i was trying to do that anyway! a good little place

Quite a few nice women here, but they tend to be here with their boyfriends so I would go somewhere else if you're serious about it all.
However lovely place. The only thing I regret about going here is ordering a San Miguel when I could have had a Budvar (only noticed when I'd ordered my drink and didn't have time to stay for another one)

I went into this pub Friday Night. Heard alot about this place. First of all I was greeted with 3 serious legless women who were falling all over the place and were still being served which is crazy. Ordered a coule of pints with my mates and decided to have some cocktails. Big mistake. If your barmaids cannot serve them properly or without the likes of me talling them how to make them, than I do not agree with serving them. Good bar service ok.

good guiness, good food. I like the Lithuanian barmaid too!

Had my lunch in here on tuesday. the food was great, not too pricey and the beer was also good. not enough noise to drown out my phone conversation which makes a nice change.
