Usual Brunning & Price (I assume) pub with all that means; attractive, food-based, good range of beers, and incredibly busy on a Friday night. Facers beer was decent.

Modern pub catering for diners and families. However it has a really good real ale selection. During our visit, there was Boggart Sun Dial, Phoenix Cheshire Best No. 5, Purple Moose Snowdonia Ale, Brains Reverend James, Timothy Taylor Landlord, Facer's Flintshire Bitter, Kingstone Stonehouse KPA, Thwaites Original and Flowers Original. No real ciders though.

We have eaten at the Glas Fryn for years and in general its been pretty good, sometime exceptional. Recently (towards end of 2008) it�s really taken a turn for the worst in terms of food. The prices remain the same, but the quality of the finished meals is just not anywhere near what it was. Six of us ate there last night and every one of us said their food was average and not worth the price.
We are not foodie snobs by any means, we have enjoyed the pubs previous inventive menu and use of local produce. It's still sounds similar on the menu, but in practice the dishes lack any finesse.
Examples
Feta and tomato salad (main); the dressing, liberally applied was out of the bottle, 99p sweet chilli sauce. This made the whole salad overly sweet and masked the flavours of the other ingredients, although it had to be said the cheese was sourced very cheaply and lacked flavour.
Tomato risotto cakes and salad (main) - well presented, but overall a bland offering with soapy (!) flavour.
I got the overall impression that the pub (under new ownership), has reviewed the ingredients bill and chief costs on a spreadsheet, and reduced the cost of both. The food had that 'just out of catering college' style to it, and for �10-�14 a main, I expect to have something on my plate a little better than I would knock up on Tuesday night at home.

The Glasfryn has been extended since I was last in Mold many years ago. But the extension is definitely in keeping and hasn't spoiled what I remember of the friendly, welcoming feel about the pub.
I didn't eat, but my wife informs me that the food is very good and the service efficient. I marvelled at the selection of real ales before selecting one to take away (this raised a few eyebrows).
If I lived locally I'd be here most nights.

Yes this pub is frequented by the professional type, but usually lunchtime and early evening. Later on, especially Friday's and the weekend it has a younger feel to it whilst not attracting the rowdy violent type. Gets very busy but bar staff are good, yes they seem imported but are very fast and friendly in my experience. I have always felt comfortable and welcome in this pub which is not something that can be said about most places.

Just about the only place around the Mold-Flint area where you're going to get a decent selection of real ales. It's a modern gastropub, so good (and pricey) food, comparative to more established local places. Beloved of theatre goers from neighbouring Clwyd Theatr Cymru, and workers from the (equally nearby) Flintshire County Council Offices. A classy place, pleasant to drink, eat and chat in, with a garden and a beautiful view over Mold for a summer's evening. Don't, however, expect anything except a gentrified place for local professionals.

Great cjoice of real ales. Good food. Fairly open plan new pub. Very expensive but good quality.

"Living in a farmer's paradise". Half decent pub with some great food. Unfortunately seems to have been appropriated by every jumped up halfwit MBNA employee that lives within 5 miles. Its a posh crisps pub. Barstaff must have been imported though. If you've been to the other pubs in Mold you'll know what I mean.

Good Pub, Good Food...Great place for a midweek drink. Can become a bit of a meat market on the weekend. Lots of middle age ladies pretending to be young!
