CLOSED - PROBABLY WILL REOPEN AS A BAR IN THE FUTURE
|
Awful place. Full of youngsters getting pie-eyed. Everyone in there has to shout to be heard over the deafening music. Can't say what the drinks are like as I couldn't get served at the bar by the bar staff who were too busy serving other punters over my shoulder due to them being the right age (i.e. under 30).

DATE OF VISIT: 10/05/11
I see this pub is now called THE BEAU NASH so I dare say it's had a makeover since the previous comments were made.
At first I thought it was another Wetherspoons but I gather it used to be a bank. The interior is quite ornately finished with various pictures of 'Beau Nash' and Bath of yesteryear hanging on the wall as well as large screen TVs showing SKY. The toilets were clean and there is a function room available for hire.
I had a pint of Gem which was well kept and had the steak to eat - both of which were enjoyable. There's a selection of 5 ales + a few ciders and there was quite an extensive lunchtime food menu.
Overall I couldn't fault this pub. The staff were friendly and the service good. I visited during the lunchtime so I can't say what's like there later on but from what I was looking for it ticked all the right boxes.
9/10.

Im almost too embarrassed to admit I have been in this pub, although it was 10:45 on a Sunday night when we couldnt find anything else open. Thankfully they soon spotted that we werent their sort of customer and told us they were also closed. Looking at previous comments it looks like we had a narrow escape.

full of chavs and lowlifes getting bladdered and looking for aggro
|
Nice from the outside and thats where you want to stay, genarally full of chavs who want to fight. I have seen a few fights here - mostly during and after the sports showing on the big screen. Single handedly the pub I have seen all the fights in Bath. Terrible selection of beer and the food is hit and miss.

Very grand building and nice interior. Would make a great real ale pub - it's a pity that it's The Litten Tree though!
|
dont bother
|
Pubscouter got it just about right. Just a more expensive version of a wetherspoons pub.
|
As other's have said - distinctly average and lacking in ambience. It's ok, but there are so many better boozers near by.
|
Not too good! Could not get into the music the DJ played.

At the top of Milsom Street in Bath I expected something classier but I'm afraid the other reviews are right. This is a dreadful former bank with no atmosphere. In addition, we were evicted at 11.10 on Friday night by a head doorman keen to go home and less interested in being polite. We were ordered to leave at 11.07 so I tried to explain that we had only just bought our drinks and felt we should be allowed at least 15 minutes to drink them in. This didn't wash with the very rude man who started to get aggressive and threatened us with physical removal. I could understand his attitude if it was 20 minutes past, or if we were steaming drunk, but it was only 7 minutes past and we were completely sober and civil. One piece of advice...NEVER GO TO THIS POOR EXCUSE FOR A BAR. The Litten Tree website claims it is welcoming - it is not.

Rather like an expensive version of weatherspoons. Great range of food and drink, but very expensive. Chain pub atmostphere too. Average
|
They've stopped the Friday night happy hour. I went there before christmas, asked for a pint of Directors and was asked to pay 2.75. Stupidly I paid. There's not much atmosphere and the music is too loud.
|
Was chuffed with happy hour Friday 5-8ish 1.50 a drink! Including Magners! Also enjoyed the food but watch out for dodgy food promotions, what a con!

1 big loud crowded open room. Drinks not even that cheap. Dont order the food, takes ages, know someone who works here and the kitchen staff havent got a clue.

Horrible chain pub, full of mouthy teenagers - Until recently a Lloyds bank.
Keeps the cretins out of the decent bars I suppose.
