Perfectly serviceable pub, which (to my mind) didn't quite hit the heights of some of the other city centre places I sampled. Friendly bar bloke and a scattering of regulars (judging by the conversations). My pint of Bath Best was fine (3.50). If I lived in Bath this could easily be my local, but as a tourist it didn't quite hit the mark.

Visited on 27 November. Excellent food (very large helpings) and well-kept beer. My great-great uncle was landlord here from 1906 (when it was the Full Moon) until his death in WWI at Ypres in 1914. His brother, and then his brother's widow, carried on running the pub until at least 1931.

Popped in here on 17th Dec to find it hasn't changed a bit after my last visit 3 years ago. Was fairly busy but I got a table by the bar and had a pint of Abbey Ales Twelth Night (2.90 I think) which was well kept and served by the ever efficiant landlady who has run this place with her husband for about 5 years (they previously managed the Saracens Head).

Poor for Bath. 4 ales on pump but not well kept, my Timothy Taylor Landlord was awful. I thought it was trying to hard to be a traditional British pub to attract in the tourists; however the tourist would do better by trying the Old Green Tree, Raven or Star. I will not return

Nice friendly pub just off the main shopping streets, with much more of a traditional pub feel to it than many of the bars around. There's a full size window at the front, so grab a seat here and watch the world go by! Good choice of beers which on my recent visit were Bombadier, Timothy Taylor Landlord, Bellringer and Otter Ale. Also Blackthorn and Stowford Press cider. The only let-down was the food. This is however in complete contrast to the previous poster, so maybe we just ordered the wrong things. The lasagne and fisherman's pie (a special) arrived in about five minutes, obviously just out the microwave. There was little meat in the lasagne, and little fish in the pie. At 5/6 they'd have been ok, but certainly not woth the 8 and 9 we paid.

This pub was a pleasant suprise on a visit to Bath. There were three cask ales available, including Timothy Taylors Landlord. The food came in generous portions and was well above average in quality, despite remaining average in price. The food was served very quickly, and the landlord was welcoming and attentive.

Called in during a recent crawl in Bath. Totaly bland pub and the beer was all together average. Wont be going back.
|
Good food and beer selection. Friendly barman which is always a comforting thing. Lots of space and occasional vaguely Dickensian pictures dotted around to connect to the pub name.
|
Reasonable beer selection. Decent enough pub, tho' lacking slightly in ambience.
|
This was highly entertaining. A group of older men in kilts trying to entertain some obviosly embarresed German Ladies. Otherwise some reasonable ales and just above average bar food.
|
Those chairs are bloody uncomfortable! Good couple of ales on including Timothy Taylor. Need to sort out ventilation - hot in the summer and smokey. Saw a guy collapse in there.
|
Can't vouch for the beer, but had a tasty bar lunch January 07 served by very pleasant staff.

Now Re-opened. OK at the front, back bit is dominated by one of those stupid gambling machines- get rid of it it ruins the character.

The 10 was for when I was the Guv here back in 1990 +
I went back in 1997 and what a dump, what happened to all the nice people in there that I worked so hard at getting/shagging?

Well, gone now... It was no great shakes in its final few months, to be honest. Main gripe was expensive, revolting coffee. I can't say why it's closed or what will come next, but there is a big shake-up in Bath city centre atm, as businesses are shunted out of a 1960s monstrosity about to be redeveloped. Lots of leases are currently changing hands. Sam Wellers may be part of this game of musical retail outlets...
So a 'don't know' rating it is.

One of the worst pubs I have ever been in. I'm glad it's shut.
|
Currently closed down and boarded up

Fantastic friendly staff, and the best stake I have ever had

It hasn't been known as The Full Moon for at least 20 years! Very mediocre pub catering to tourists and because of it's central location it doesn't need to try too hard.
|
Formerly The Full Moon, it now has a supposed Dickens theme. On today's visit, warm and slightly vinegary Moles Landlord's Choice; pretty disgusting toilets; a slightly scruffy interior - though quite a pleasant restaurant area; good value food.

Tiny little pub, but worth a visit. Does very good beer and has a non smoking area.
