Only been in here a couple of times. Normally has a couple of NI beers on. Unfortunately this has now probably been converted to a Granny Annies establishment in the recent cull of Wetherspoons in NI.

Large double tiered JDW, nothing different from the UK. Busy on a Saturday night, nice atmosphere, friendly staff - drop in pub.

Londonderry seemed like a fairly nice town and the Diamond is nicely located within the old walled city on a small square. I have to say that waiting to be served alcohol until 12:30 on a Sunday in Northern Ireland is quite a pain. It meant our visit was a little rushed! The 4 real ales on offer practically made the pub a Greene King outlet with Old Speckled Hen, Abbot and Ruddles Best all on. The only other ale was Hereford Owd Bull. The cider festival doesn't appear to have been too popular in this outlet. 4 ciders and a perry were still on - Thatchers Traditional, Mr Whiteheads Festival Special Perry, Sheppy's Farmhouse, Sandford Orchards Devon Scrumpy and Westons Marcle Hill. The interior is large and a little dark. After a very swift half, we moved onto the other Londonderry Spoons.

A barrel of Hilden arrived in the morning, was put on at lunchtime, and was vinegar by 9 O'clock! Says a lot for their cellarmanship.

Fast, friendly service and guest ales only 1.09 a pint on my recent visit.

Doesn't look much from the outside - but a surprisingly pleasant interior. A very nice pint of White dwarf wheat beer from the the far-from-local Oakham Ales at 1.39 - bargain!

Typical Wetherspoon set-up. Decent prices and efficient bar staff oin my visit. Only two grumbles: music in a JDW! And why no real ales from Ireland?
|
live and work in london typical decor of wetherspoon pub decor but day i went barstaff were friendly pub was clean and service was good

Poor food compared to its sister pub on the Strand road. Staff seem very unprofessional and seem to be new staff every time Ive had the displeasure of entering. Seems to be occupied by the derry alcos looking for the cheap booze.

An oasis in the North-west for those who want a decent ale rather than lager or guinness; it has become a regular for me when visiting the area. Prices very cheap. Clean modern decor but lacking in soul. Staff very helpful. Food decent enough and very reasonably priced too.

great bar, nice staff, bit quite some nights but weekend is good, not full of the usual scum for some pubs round aboutit.

It's a nice enough bar... and the drink is cheap... However there are many, many bars in the Londonderry area where the atmosphere is alot better- The other wetcherspoons in Derry draws larger crowds and possibly has a better atmosphere...
