Six good beers on the last visit, all good me and my friends tried them all between us.. London pride was the best around this area. Sausages appear to be a theme here and the menu looked good. I think it must have been a sausage night...

Another warm welcome after a long walk from Berkhamsted, a gambolling pooch improved the mood after we had been left speechless by the decidedly inconvenient location of Tring railway station. It's a Fullers flagship affair and a pint of Seafarer's went down well. The food menu sounded excellent with a nice line in seafood but the music could have been better chosen and the lighting could also be turned down a notch.

One of the happiest, friendliest pubs for miles. Excellent bar staff, too - somehow they get you served quickly even when the place is packed, as it often is of a Friday or Saturday evening. All down to experienced and effective management, I'd imagine. Highly recommended.

First pub in town as I came in from pendley manor. Nice pub..... offered a straight or goblet glass for my pint of ESB.
went for a drive with my daughter very nice how a good pub should be run, keep up the good work.
Enjoyed a very nice pint and good atmosphere here - well worth a visit if passing.
Every timeIi come here I enjoy my evening, the beer has always been excellent and the place is great fun and always busy and bustling on Friday nights. Also has a great mixture of young and older, not many pubs seem to get this anymore. I wish I lived closer, but still will return!
As always - great ale, good laugh, nice atmosphere and as we all know, "I Love A Party With A Happy Atmosphere".
Ok, it's Friday and I'm out & about tonight. Good chance I will call into "The Hood" for a few pints of my favourite tipple. The question is whether Jack will recognise me.
As always, good service, great ale, lively atmosphere and I do like a party with a happy atmosphere. Looking forward to Saturday when we're eating at The Hood.
Couldn't help stopping by after the KA. Great to see Stewart & Terry back and good to see it so busy for a Thursday.
Food looked good again, although I didn't stop to try. Balckboard looked more appealing as well.
Don't know when their next holiday is, but will have to make the most of it.

What's occurring! No T&S and it's gone a bit Pete Tong and what's happened to the food board? I brought a friend along last night for some grub, as I'd been banging on about the excellent specials and it was most disappointing, so we went next door to the Indian and had a really good ruby.
How long are T&S away for?
Back again for Sunday lunch, it was busy and we thought we would have to wait for our food but it still came in good time. Nice roast beef and I counted six different veg! Will be coming back again soon.
Everytime I go into this pub, the atmosphere is terrific, the staff friendly and helpful and above all, the ale is superb.
There really isn't a better pub for probably 30 miles.
Popped in for a couple before going on. Great pub, busy and fun.
Pride's not my usual but this is a good pub and the beers kept well great atmosphere.
Great pub, shame restricted to Fullers but Discovery good.
Came to this pub on a recomendation. It was a friday night and quite busy. I had the london pride and it was excellent my wife had a glass of wine which was clod and very nice indeed. We both went for the seafood salad, prawns crab meat smoked salmon and peppered mackeral loads of salad with some seafood sauce, it was really good but could have done with more sauce! i'm sure if i had asked I would have recieved as all the staff were friendly, but they looked busy so i didn't want to bother them and it was still nice... will definately go back, with friends!
back again over two years later and ...... it's even better!! staff still the same and they remembered me, wow!
Never fails to deliver. Excellent ale, always a good atmosphere although there are a couple of regular soaks who stand at the bar like they own it. Service is always prompt. Can't really fault it.
Word to other local pubs. Take a look at how it should be done!!
Always seems busy when I visit. Fullers beers-lovely. food looks good (I've not tried) best bet for a beer in the middle of Tring
Fairly busy pub located just off a busy roundabout. Parking can be a little tricky. Inside is a little dull. But there is some fairly impressive woodwork, and the welcome was friendly. Unfortunately, beers are all from the Fullers range - Pride, ESB, Discovery, Chiswick, Seafarers Ale and Festival. A bit more variety could make this a better than average pub.
Why go anywhere else? Had lunch in there on Sunday. Just great. Atmosphere terrific, good food, what else could you ask for. This has to be the best pub in Tring, by a mile.
Having heard that the chef from the hood had defected to the KA, i was apprehensive about eating at the hood, but having endured a bad evening at the KA a couple of nights earlier, i was pleasantly surprised by events at the hood. it was packed.
Stewart back in the kictehn is a good ting.
Great atmosphere, good food, excellent service particularly from Jack behind the bar.
Long may it continue.

I came all the way from Stoke Poges on a recommendation for the best seafood ever (I had my doubts) but i must say that it was one of the best meals we have ever had I had the Paella, my wife had the Red Snapper on Pilaf complete with pickled Walnuts. Unlike Timbly I will be returning!
Had lunch there recently and ordered the mussels in white wine sauce, and can honestly say that it was the worst plate of seafood that I have ever had! I really do not know why this pub has such a good reputation for food when it dissapoints so badly. I shall not be revisiting.

Boozetaria Magnifique !
This is a great pub, and in my opinion is the best by far in Tring. Landlords make you very welcome, variety of beer's and ales and the food is great with huge portions, which is fresh and hot. Great place to socialise
Must agree with Romanique, on my visits there on friday and saturday night I found myself agreeing with all the comments made, and will definately be returning with friends. 10/10
Great pub. Great atmosphere. Great Beers. Great locals. Great Landlords. Great Food. In fact everything about the pub is just... Great.
had a great night here very good beer. happened in when they had bangers and mash night, really nice, ive never had chilli mash before......
You'll be hard pushed to find a friendlier, community focused pub. It has a great atmosphere, ale's that are kept well and taste great. The garden is a lovely place to sit on a sunny day, whilst enjoying liquid refreshment, if this place was a shop, it would be called Harrods !
This is a very warm, welcoming pub. The bar and kitchen staff are very hospitable and friendly. They keep a very good real ale, there are 6 to choose from. these include discovery, chiswick, ESB and london pride last time i checked. They always have a choice of 2 guest ales, i think at the moment they are Fullers; India Pale Ale (IPA) and Elgoods; Cambridge. The food is very good, it is always well presented. All in all a VERY good pub.
i like this pub, has a gr8 selection of well kept beers! food is very tasty, and the staff are very friendly and helpful! the courtyard is nice and colourful, covered for when it rains and heated for when its cold! i always bring my family and friends down here! its like a second home! customer basis is a nice crowd, no punch ups will happen here! i recommend this pub 2 any ppl tht havnt been b4! as i sed b4 its very homely and welcoming!
Excellent little boozer, Tring has needed this type of establishment for a long time and its a far cry from the dark smokey old cave that it once was. Beer always good, the staff are warm and pleasant and there is a great atmosphere. A really good little local - well done x
Haven't eaten here but the food looks good. Serves a very good pint I would recomend the Discovery, my only comment would be that the beer prices are a little steep, but the beer is by far the best in Town so I don't mind paying a little extra for a decent pint
great place! didn't eat but food that went past looked good, beer was good six real ales too choose from, i tried four but avoided the ESB as i thought better because i wanted to remain upright! as with the previous comment the staff were friendly and made you feel welcome.
What a Pub!
The New management, coming up to six months in charge, have made a real difference. The beer is not just good, but excellent. Tied to Fullers (London Pride, E.S.B., Chiswick and Discovery Blonde were available last I was there) but they always have at least one guest in (Adnams, Brakespears are the most recent).
A single bar pub with a large tabled "almost restraunt" area as well as the usual pub style seating. The food is good. Very good. Imaginative and tasty, using quality ingredients. Not a "pub grub" menu, good, well thought out dishes.
Staff always happy and friendly, willing to make you feel welcome. A good safe pub that has improved enormously with the new management.
This pub is recently under new management - amazing difference. Fantastic menu excellent food, the atmosphere has changed! It is now well ventilated newly decorated fresh clean and very friendly staff. It seems to be the place to drink and eat in Tring as it is always full whatever night of the week. The court yard garden is lovely.
Here you will find some of the best fish dishes for many, many miles around. This pub has lots of character, low beam ceilings, pictures adorning the walls, friendly staff and some excellent beer and food.
The only negative comment would be that the non-smoking area is a little too small, and that instead of using the bar area and surround as the smoking area they would have been better to use the raised area for smoking (smoke tends to rise) and introduce some ventilation.
