please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Only go in owing to CAMRA beer tokens... dirty tables, previous people's remains of meals left scattered everywhere for too long. Pump clips never turned around when beer no longer available. Beer not bad at all though, if you can put up with the legendary Weatherspoon Wait.

An unexciting wetherspoons.
But it does what is says on the tin.

8/10 (just because it's cheap)

Seems to have had a bit of a facelift since my last visit, which has smartened it up somewhat - not before time. It's not the most attractive pub in the JDW chain, but the beer is usually well kept. One usual criticism though - too many beers marked 'Available soon'!

I have used this pub regularly in the past, probably 3 or 4 times a year but it has been getting worse and worse. Went in on a Saturday afternoon. Only two beers available from the 10 pumps all displaying ales. The wrong food was delivered to our table and then had to wait quite a while for the correct one to arrive. All of the staff accept one bright young lady (probably wont last) were zombies. This is now one of the the worst Wetherspoons in the area along with the one in Weston Super Mare. Definitely not recommended.

A recent improvement here, not least in the choice of beers. The change was needed - hope it lasts.

Oh Dear! I feel compelled to concur with several of the previous postings with regards to this place. Now youre not expecting an architectural gem when you visit a spoons (with the possible exception of those few built into historical buildings and retaining period features, Harrogate and Tunbridge Wells for example). But this place takes the art of dullness to another level.
I am not surprised to see below that it was a former shoe shop, as it is completely void of any ambience and character and gives you the experience of drinking in a large plain shoebox.
Most other high street Spoons at least try to brighten the place up with a few photos and information of surrounding points of interest, but not here. Perhaps that says something about Street.
And although there is a temporary rush of excitement when you approach the bar to see 10 real ale handpumps , this is quickly crushed when you realise that they only support the standard house ales found in most other spoons, namely Ruddles, Pedigree and Abbots. And although there was a token regional beer on at the time of my visit, Contleigh Golden Seahawk, which is usually a decent golden beer from the Somerset Brewer, unfortunately its not when its served in the Lantokay.
Oh Dear

Not great. Only 1 guest beer on offer, and it was bland (Even by JDW standards). Don't think I will go there too often!

A suitable pub for those who enjoy shopping in street.
Third rate rubbish, even by the standards usually encountered in Street.

Ideal if you like sitting in draughts and with food embedded in the carpet beneath your feet. This is the worse 'spoons we've ever set foot in.
Surly miserable staff don't make you welcome.
A long wait for our food though there were hardly any other diners.
There are plenty of eating places in Street so don't bother coming here.

Pretty poor, even for a 'spoons. Nevertheless it keeps the chavs who come in coaches to buy 'seconds' from the 'factory outlets' away from the Bear down the road.

It's a former shoeshop, and still feels like one to me.
This has to be my least favourite JDW outlet (and I know lots of them).
The_Final_Arbiter - 28 Jun 2008 15:21
Street is a mecca for all the chavs and cheapskates who come to buy bargain basement third rate tat from the retail outlets in town.
It's hardly suprising then that any pub that also caters for this market sector is going to be a hit, so a wetherspoons pub and Street are made for each other.

As with all spoons pubs the food is digusting, the beer undrinkable, the service abysmal and the whole place is a stinking sh!thole like all their pubs. But as this is Street, this example is even worse than normal, but being in Street means it's always busy.

Not the best Wetherspoons but reasonably good for a lunchtime meal while shopping in Clarks Village.

This was a grubby spoons with poor service from staff who actually started fighting between themselves when we were there. Its a small place for a spoons as well plus it was draughty and the layout isnt good.

Good value food though.

Typical JDW town pub. Cheap beer, poor service by youths barely old enough to drink, with no knowledge of what they're serving.......popular with the townies of course, but best avoided.
Wide menu of chips.

Considering this is a Wetherspoon, and you would expect it to have got a bit over used and grimy, this JDWS is ok.

I have only been during mid week during bargain hunting at the Clarks Village, but service and food were fine. Toilets looked like they had been in a fight as some of the door glass was missing, but they were clean.
