Apparently a favourite of Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. Nice man.

Good beers and a good atmosphere. We didn't eat there, but enjoyed our visit.

Lovely beer garden and building, with both dining and bar areas indoors. Had a couple of local ales on, and the one I had was in good condition. They also had some cards/dominos that could be borrowed for free in the bar area which I like. Note that the menu is Caribbean food only - if this is what you want, great, but perhaps not what you'd expect from an otherwise traditional Dorset pub.

Yuk from the beginning to the end, probably the worst Beer I have ever been served, couple that with the filthy conditions and it is one Pub never to be visited again. Avoid unless you are dying of thirst or hunger.

Lovely garden and a friendly welcome. Beer pretty poor.
Food above average - watch that jerk chicken though its pretty lively! Caribbean chef even makes the tomato sauce in kid's spaghetti a little spicy so my two little ones really struggled to eat it.
One big concern is cleanliness. Toilets were disgusting so it was no great surprise to see a dead cockroach in there. In addition the owner's three great danes were wandering around the kitchen on the lookout for food and the owner didn't do much to stop them.

Interesting pub that clearly is well thought of. Helicopter directions are included in their brochure!
The food smelt very appealing indeed but no lighter menu is available at lunch time, except for very overpriced soup at nearly 6. The friendly service didn't mask the poor, murky Branscombe beer either (the worst beer of the week on my Dorset holiday).

Not been there personally, but this place a very good write up in the Pint to Pint column in todays Telegraph. Serve food with a Tobagon touch plus fine selection of real ales on offer. And no, don't get suspicious, I have no connection with this pub at all, so no rating given.

Now run by a mad load of Rastafarians, unusual for leafy Dorset! The menu is West Indian .

We enjoyed a very fine pint while sitting by the fire one cold afternoon recently. Very snug and pleasant bar. Didn't eat but the restaurant looked very cosy. Well woth the detour.

Superb beers and friendly service from Wendy. The food seems pricey until it arrives! Gorgeous garden.
