Plough, Crews Hillback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
A McMullens eating establishment housed in the middle of 'Garden Centre City'. As you can gather from the reviews somewhere people go to eat as opposed to a social pub. At busy times drinkers can be relcoated to the odd shelf. The pint of McMullens IPA was quite an acquired taste - as in for those who like drinking the contents of mop buckets. Another place I could imagine to be like the restaurant from the original edition of 'Bedside Mad' when busy.

Nice pub with a good garden. The staff, in general, seemed a friendly bunch and the bar staff quite unflustered, even on a hot sunny Saturday lunchtime, with the place being packed. The food looked good too. We only had sandwiches, which were very good indeed. I sampled the "Stokers", which was excellent. Definitely a pub to return to.

This is a great place to eat, popped in last night (Tuesday) for a light meal and a pint and was surprised to see the place so busy. There must be at least 150 seats and everyone had a person sat eating. Tried the local ale A.K it was OK but the Country Bitter was superb. The food was very good. Staff and manager Mike were very friendly even though very busy, I will definatly return. BREWTEN

Good place (well, actually the only place) to unwind after slogging around all the nurseries and before going home to plant 'em all. Staff are friendly (waitress was a bit dippy) and beers kept well. Menu is average and a tad expensive.

It is funny how a pub doesnt get a review for 3 years and then gets 2 in the space of 4 days, but I popped into the Plough last Friday. I had a spot of lunch, before walking around the endless garden centres. Its a big pub with a conservatory, ample parking and plenty of outside seating that incorporates a childrens play area.
The lager was good and waitress was very friendly and helpful. My bacon and cheese burger was missing the cheese, but it was nice anyway. At around 12:30 the pub started to fill up with pensioner types who started to bombard the kitchen with orders for fish and chips. I got the feeling that the local residents are in their twilight years, so I wouldnt imagine that it is a beehive of activity in the evenings (but I could be wrong).
This is a food orientated family friendly pub.

Large out-of-town pub which looked like it had a dining focus. Didn't have any ale but had the full McMullen's range. Was very quiet on the Sunday night I visited (perhaps evidenced by the lack of reviews it's had for the past two years). Can't say much more really.

Nice quiet and quite old-fashioned pub tucked away in the Crews Hill area. Nice cosy feel in the snug or the area surrounding the main bar, with a more airy and spacious environment available in the conservatory. Drinks are pretty much the standard sort of thing for a local pub but are a little bit dear. Food is very nice but once again pricey. Good for a relaxing drink and chat on most nights, but better on quiz nights which are always good up there. Landlord and bar staff are all friendly and welcoming. A very nice place to spend the evening, so ultimatley worth the extra expense.
