That's right, radjel is a carn or an area where a fox lives. So renamed as a one time landlord had the surname of......Fox. Fox's lair. Good atmosphere and beers and no chance of being attacked by Al Quaida et al

To the "Local123321" who is clearly still a tad upset over being kicked out of, and permanently barred from the Radjel for verbal support of violent terrorist acts and general disgusting behaviour, who also failed to mention how they are also barred from the North Inn. The Radjel is a friendly and relaxed place, they have a great reputation and I always have a wonderful time with the staff, including George and Pete, I have never had a dull evening or an off pint. Would truly recommend to anyone who wants to know why we Cornish spend so much time at the pub, along with great locally and nationally popular beer, ale and cider selections, the taste of home cooked food, and you don't even have to pay through the nose for it.

Not too sure about the previous entry with clearly personal comments about individuals, which to my mind is not the purpose of this website.
Anyway, standard village pub with two bars and an additional room with a pool table. One bar room is larger than the other and has some interesting photographs on the wall showing that the building was once a shop then became the 'Boscaswell Inn' subsequently renamed the, (unique), Radjel. Smaller bar room is more of a public bar. A St. Austell pub with its usual range of beers. My pint of Tribute in good condition. Friendly service as were the locals gathered in the public bar. My understanding of the name is to do with a Cornish word meaning a place where a fox lives. The pub seems to have got the name as Radjel was the nickname of a former licensee.
Worth popping in if passing.

First ill start of with I'm a local person and this USED to be a very nice pub growing up every other weekend this pub has had hundreds of pounds go through it because of our custom but as of this weekend I'd recommend no body should go there unless you can put up with the rude bar staff and the owners Pete and George ( George is the impolite & arrogant land lady). Also we have found them to be quite racist towards the Muslim culture and religion witch in nowadays society is unacceptable and unforgivable. I shall be reporting the racial incident to local authorities and also the slander against a Muslim friend of ours in witch case they have had 24 hours to get in contact with the solicitors and/or myself. I'd suggest if your looking to stay in pendeen go to the north inn witch is less than 300 yards up the road the atmosphere and facility's are better and the land lord John is alot more polite.

Dropped in mid afternoon on a Saturday looking for a late lunch. Staff were very helpful and food was good. Good range of decent beer. Would go again.

Nice village pub with good beer and food. Attractive from the outside but a bit tierd on the inside. Did n't get a chance to try the North just down the road so cannot make a comparision but this pub is well wort a visit if you are passing or staying in the area.

Unfortunately, I don't like the smell of dog even if it is called Harriet. Wrong time for a visit perhaps - afternoon - but I really disliked this place. Get yourself down the road to the North!

as a pub for a drink its ok,but if you are thinking of B&B dont bother unless you can sleep through a riot till all hours downstairs. The bathroom is across the hall ,with a shower over the bath that comes out at two miles a fortnight. No television in the room and a radiator that didnt work.Plus points comfy bed and a good breakfast.

Absolutely agree with you, George. Just back too. Harriet the hound is a French something or other. There were roaring fires lit in all parts. A few locals were gathered. I loved it. St Austell's was much less than 3 a pint unless I was undercharged. Wish I could have stayed for more, but I fancied trying Lil's Chippy which is nearly next door. Pleased to say Lil's was brilliant.

Excellent beer service and food - look out for the local characters - Ken, Trap4 and Harriet spring to mind. Don't miss the wednesday night pub quiz. Recently returned from a break in Pendeen and this pub is an integral part of fond memory.

A pleasant pub, good beer and interesting menu. Sadly we didn't have time to try the food. Large friendly house dog named Harriet.
