Standard locals town pub - nothing special but was badly let down by quality of the ale. Not much of a selection and I went for Marstons pedigree - which was dire and undrinkable, left half of it. Poor show for a GBG entry

Being honest, I nipped in for a pony as much as anything else. Good pub. Yes, the locals do hog the bar, but there's not a lot of space inside. The beer garden outside is a tad spartan but a fair size and is pleasant enough. Locals seemed friendly, with a couple of comedians amongst them and a dog, which was chasing a ball around.
Pint of Eagle IPA was good. Also had Newton's Drop, Try Time, Autumn Red, Purser's Pussy and a Young's "Special" (Not sure what exactly that was.) on. Hedgelayer & Dunton on the cider front.
The dunny was clean and had paper and it flushed. Needed that more than the pint, good though the pint was.

This is probably Biggleswade's best pub. It has a good location on the High Street and as such attracts plenty of passing trade. Unlike the Pembroke Arms, it was fairly busy yesterday lunchtime. The beer selection is good. I too observed the number of locals sat at the bar, making service difficult. But at least there are a couple of blackboards available to peruse to make selection easier. Ales on were Wells Eagle IPA, Buntingford Crystal, Brains SA, Star Lilith & Galaxy & Oldershaw Revolution. There were also 2 ciders - Duntons Medium & Farmer Jim's Farmyard Fruits. The pub itself is a small one-room affair. But it feels quite cosy. No food is served.

Excellent choice of beers, only tried the Brains Dark which was superb. Only downside as noted earlier is the fact that the locals hog the bar space and seem unwilling to let anyone else near the bar.

Once again following Slough Town on the road in the Evo-Stik Central, the massed ranks of Rebels fans pitched up at the Golden Pheasant.

And what a pub. No music, no TV so no overblown Premier League football, no extensive menu. In fact no food at all. But the Golden Pheasant is that rarest of beasts... a drinkers pub.

Six real ales availble, including Black Sheep and some excellent Buntingford November Ale, brewed just up the road. The pub has some seats, some tables, the ability to have a converstaion and a friendly landlord. So what can I say except what a pleasant change it is to find such a pub in a town centre. We all fully intend to return next season.

Best pub by far in Biggleswade. Would honestly say it's one of the top 5 pubs I've been to in my life - and that's no exaggeration.

I never thought this place would be my cup of tea, but having recently moved to the area, I find myself going here more and more. Friends I've made in Biggleswade and the surrounding area also swear by the place.

As has been stated previously, 'an oasis in a town full of poor pubs'.

Apart from being quite small with a load of locals hogging the bar this pub is perfect and the beer choice was unbelievable with all the old pump clips displayed around the pub. 8-9/10

Lots of rare beers appearing regularly. Justifiably won the local CAMRA pub of the year 2009. Such a shame the local branch do not support this excellent Pub.
Excellent beer quality, never had a bad pint!

everything a town centre boozer should be. Great pint of Directors, comfortable pub, friendly staff and customers - an oasis in a town full of poor pubs

Youngs Special, Archers Game Set & Match, Wells Eagle ipa, Adnams, & the excellent Crouch Vale Oregon Best & Buntingford Twilight. Welcoming local feel in comfortable front bar, dartboard in corner to left, albeit above a table. Nicely paved courtyard, lots of picnic sets, some covered by giant umbrella. The bar displays a list of those collectively barred in Biggleswade; probably 2 dozen(!) names, but I doubt the site of their wrongdoing would often be the Golden Pheasant. Certainly one to return to if in the area again.

Visited on a Saturday night. Friendly locals and landlord who keeps an excellant pint. A Charles Wells pub but with beers from micro breweries available when visited beers from Buntingford Brewery were available. Not to be missed on visiting the area.
Clean tidy and warm small pub.
