Golden Pheasant, Biggleswade

Best pub by far in Biggleswade. Would honestly say it's one of the top 5 pubs I've been to in my life - and that's no exaggeration.

I never thought this place would be my cup of tea, but having recently moved to the area, I find myself going here more and more. Friends I've made in Biggleswade and the surrounding area also swear by the place.

As has been stated previously, 'an oasis in a town full of poor pubs'.

Stratton House Hotel, Biggleswade

I have visited the Stratton House a few times, mainly for drinking, but a couple of times have eaten there also.

The food area is clean, the staff are polite, and the food itself is of good quality.

The bar area itself is in an awkward configuration, making getting to the bar itself difficult on busy days, and doesn't give you much of an area to mingle in.

A seating area exists to the side of the bar, as well as quite a few tables outside, but the one let down with the Stratton is the service behind the bar. A couple of staff are quick, efficient and friendly, but all too often I've found myself being ignored while at the bar, or else being given dirty glass or having my change flung back at me, even on quiet days.

And finally, the beer itself - not much to write home about, a few specials have gone down well recently, but inevitably after a pint or two, we inevitably start gravitating to a better pub just a few metres down the road.
