I agree with the comment three below mine. I got banned by previous management after I was sexually assaulted by a previous assistant management and reported it to the police. I then had my wages witheld. On top of that the assistant manager dealt coke. The venue being closed down and given new management is way over due. I still have knightmares and therapy from my experiences of this place
|
Ruined by stumblers.
|
The Camden Gazette states that the club was closed by police....thanks to useless drug dealers who don't know how to be discreet. Wastemen.
|
I am looking forward to the NEW MANAGEMENT This place is CLOSED and no surprise there.....this place was ruined by a bunch of eeedjiyaats who hang around Camden... Fights every week. People putting the windows in because they started to hate the place and the people that drank there. Women being sexually attacked by men [NONCES]...inside the club and directly outside. Women followed home after having their drinks spiked on a Saturday night. People pooing on private residential property at the back of the club. People having their drinks spilled by divs who do it purpose to start fights. People being robbed. People being glassed. People being stabbed. All the morons doing this were / are KNOWN for doing this but were allowed in every week.
The only people that were banned were women who wouldn't sleep with particular staff and were then thrown out for "being rude to staff".
The place became a PIT.
Good bye Oh Bar. Long live the new Oh Bar.

I popped in here early Friday evening, for the first time in 7+ years. I remember the staff used to be very friendly and would have a laugh with the customers, but alas I was served by a surly barmaid with a customer service bypass and a masters in apathy. There is now a stage at the back for bands to set up, but I think there is still graffiti in the disgraceful gents from when I used to go (not by my hand).
Lager, Guinness and Strongbow are all available and you are allowed to take drinks outside as long as you ask for a plastic vessel.
For a late bar it is passable, but I wouldnt go in if the pubs were still open.
|
Rather enjoyed it here, early on a Saturday evening. Had a bottle of Old Peculier. Thought they did what they did well, balance of beer, music, ambience and not a bad crowd.
|
Much, much better than it might appear for early evening/weekday drinks. Comfortable and friendly. Ended up staying much longer than I expected.
|
oh yeah, yeah true - and they got a good staff there, compettive priced drinks, good young bar staff, good thai food. Its the party venue of camden town...27th July Monopoly night >>live indie bands>>Live DJ's>>Live people>>live drinks

Great news Moomintroll the Old assistant Manager has been promoted as is now the Manager at the Camden Eye opposite the Camden town tube station She is doing a great job and is still very beautiful
|
GOOD STUFF!!!! definitely the place to be. The staff are just amazing and the managers are great. The former assistant manager was really beatiful. Great music and great food.
|
I popped in with some friends after work last Friday. The service was quick and friendly, although the cocktails were only basic. Had a wicked night though as the place turns into a club after ten. We raved until four in the morning.
|
It's better during the day when it's quiet and more chilled. Have been in the evening as well and it was rammed and hectic.

better during the day. when it's not busy. at all. Then you can actually get served and hopefully the barman won't kick you off the table you've been sitting at for an hour because he wants to eat his staff meal. Hmm. glasses were filthy and pints were not very nice. Bar staff have a bit of an attitude problem. Almost seems as if they think it's a privelidge to be served by them. Didn't appreciate asking for a jug of pimms and being asked 'can you afford it before i make it?'.

Is it anyone who knows who the cute bouncer is!!?? He worked last saturday around 10/11 pm!! Tall hansom and damn he was cute!!!....

I quite like it in here. Only been during the day though. Big, spacious and friendly. Bar staff are quite inventive and friendly.

I always go to Camden for Christmas to visit family Last year we stopped by the oh! bar on xmas eve. It was dead, apart from a small group playing operation (the board game) in the corner.
The barmaid working was very very lovely, both personality and look-wise. However the barman was too full of his own self worth and importance to give a damm about the customers. on reply to a simple request to turn the music down for 2mins (we were the only ones in there after all) the barman laughed and said yeah right, and turned it up to full volume. We did get an appology from the barmaid but i dont think we'll be going back there
Also for a cocktail bar, i found the cocktail menu rather basic and there was no room for variations in the drinks served.

I hope this is displayed this time... toned down version
The bar staff are sleazy and the place resembles hell
|
Fairly horrid pub which had a lingering bouquet of vomit the night we went. Bartender was capable, but came across a bit sleazy. The place was empty, and it's not hard to see why.
|
one of the nastiest bars i've ever been in... maybe it's better as a venue, but - and i like dingey - this bar was just too dingey too deal with
|
Just to clear something up -- 43217, bigbeerbelly was responding to a comment which we (the BITE admin) removed for being against our comments policy. I don't think anyone has a problem with what you said :-)
|
here we go look. You said yourself not to take the comments too seriously yet you obviously just have. And don't tell me thats a load of rubbish because everything i spoke about is true. I was commenting on the venue and what it is like as a whole, not just how pissed i got there.
|
what a load of rubbish, this is a drinking site, not politics. But I wouldn't take comments here too seriously though, they don't even serve real ale here, so probably been drinking elsewhere. This pub/bar last time not that good really, music alright.
|
went there for first time on camden crawl, it was appalling, the smell of the toilets is rank, couldnt understand why they have sand in the ladies, must be a southern thing!
|
This isn't really a pub. It's a bar trying to be a club. It looks pretty hellish to me, but I might just be too old. One of only two pubs in Camden to employ bouncers, which feels wrong and does not contribute to the overall vibe. I cannot fathom why anyone would go here rather than to Inverness Street unless they wanted to see a specific DJ.

I go to Oh bar most Fridays and I love it. The music is wicked, there is a great mix of people and most of them are cool! Anyone that likes to dance should be there!!

i like this place, reggae on sum sundays, nice atmosphere to chill
anonymous - 21 Dec 2003 16:20 |
personally, i like this place, good on a friday and sunday, some sundays have reggae until late, nice atmosphere. good place to chill
Teri - 21 Dec 2003 16:16 |
Honestly, I think in this bar there is a bouncer problem because if they do not like your face they simply won't let you in. (Or let you stand outside for a looong time, yeah because it is so cool to have power, isn't it?!) Other than that I believe the atmosphere can be good inside... once you're in.
And hey, one really good Melo - Drum'n Bass night every 2nd Saturday or so. Good DJs!
Mel - 14 Dec 2003 16:56 |
horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE!! bad music, bad staff and nasty atmosphere!
anonymous - 10 Nov 2003 19:04 |
Rubbish - refused entry to me and a mate because we were wearing trainers.
The place was pretty much empty at the time. I'm not going back.

i've been going to the Oh bar for a few months now and i usually go after work which means that i arrive there at 12am and the place is jumpin. i like it cos it plays r'n'b&hip'hop, and happy vibes. i would recommend this club to anyone who enjoys r'n'b hip hop groves to give it a go.
|
It's a very cool place if you are looking for funky parties. It's open till late, but very crowded if you're going there after midnight.
|
Our jobcentre sometimes has leaving do's here which is why I tend to miss them - nothing too exciting about the place - very modern interior if you like that sort of thing, pub usually full of 20-30somethings drinking cocktails & alcopops. If it's real beer you are looking for then go to the Spreadeagle or Hogshead in Parkway.
