Bull, Broxbourneback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Very chainey feel to the place - catering for standard pub dining.
Large bar - plenty of staff on. Nice patio out the front.
McMullens Country was in very, very good condition - so can't complain about the cellarmanship.

Returned after eight years (doesn't time fly?). A third beer was on the bar this time, Rivertown's Eight Hop. After tasting it (which was very bland) I did question whether the barman had accidentally given me AK. He assured me he hadn't.
Later, Hannah, who was doing her 'Silver Award' training, spoke to me about my query over the beer. She kindly brought two 'tasters' of Eight Hop and AK to test the difference. Both did taste the same, but there was a slight colour difference and aroma. I thanked her for taking the trouble to satisfy a customer's concerns.
Well done Hannah, other pub management take note!

Have been here a few times now (reluctantly) in recent years and it still feels like a dining place rather than a drinkers pub. The menu and specials board should suit all tastes at reasonable prices. Smaller portions at a reduced rate are available. Beware though, small is quite small. I had the sausage, mash, onion and gravy and genuinely thought a few vegetables would come with it - but sadly not. It tasted ok as did the other meals: A gammon and a rib-eyed steak. When I said earlier that I reluctantly come here it is because it is a McMullen's pub (and do I not like Muck Mullen's beer). On the back of the menu it states that a fine selection of our ales can be found at the bar..........Oh yeah? Not surprisingly the only choice in here is AK and Country. These will be found in every Mac's pub -so where is the fine choice? I decided to pay up and leave when the pipe music started playing Abba's 'Dancing Queen'. Good grief, does anyone really like that crap?

Recently refurbed in November 2009, its a pity they didn't replace the manager along with the dated furniture. Very ,very rude. When we complained about a meal coming out cold we were asked "What do you want me to do about it?". Very poor service, bar staff stand around chatting rather than serving. Overpriced food and drink. A place to avoid at all costs, and those costs will be sky high.

Nice pub which on the Friday night I visited was full of a friendly and youngish crowd who all knew each other. A good local I guess, where everybody knows your name.

Nice pub good parking and beer garden thats the plus, it is a a cost the beer is very expensive and the food is a lot of money for small meals, the people in my party needed to cook when we got home. the food is well prepared just not enough

its a nice place to sit outside in the summer with a pint and some friends as the front beer garden is a greaat sun-trap! however the pub is quite darkly decorated inside which is a shame. a mixture of ages drink here, but mostly youngsters. i havent ever eaten here, but the beer is good and reccommended. one of the better places in the area.

rather a family pub and the place has become rather run down. Run by young kids. Although good pint of McMullans.
